  1. And then he would have thrown it over Prince's head.
  2. I dont like that Svuem had no idea if there would be line up changes. As if he hasnt had any time to think about it. Id rather have him say he doesnt want to tell at this point
  3. Seeeeeeet! Edited! (so happy, I cant type straight!) I meant sweet!
  4. Yeh. that would have been nice. Losing 2-1 instead of 6-1!
  5. 3) Ray Durham is terrible defensively. Worse than Weeks. On the whole, I agree. And I also think that's saying a lot about Durham. No range. I have to disagree with this. I'll take limited range over botching balls hit right at you and not being able to turn the double play.
  6. Mota in the 7th. Must mean Gagne in the 8th.
  7. Revenue. I image the Astros will get a larger percentage than the Cubs. The brewers probably will get something to cover expenses.
  8. Help a player out??? I dont care if Bill Hall ever has another at bat in a Brewers uniform. I think my booing comes from Neds idiotic decisions (like having Hall bat vs. RHP. I dont care if Ricky Weeks goes down to the minor leagues to learn how to hit, field ground balls and turn the double play. He has already caused this supposed contending team enough wins. If Ned cant resist the urge to use Gagne in the 8th with a 1 run lead, Id rather see Gagne go away for good. No, I never boo hoping that I'll encourage the players to succeed. Theyve already proved that they cant. And no, I dont drink at Brewers games. In 82, when Randy Lerch played like these guys (Gagne, Weeks, Hall) do, they got rid of him! Suuuure, the Brewers "are going fo it". Not with all that has gone wrong and is continuing to go wrong. I didnt boo (much) last year....except when Mench batted vs RHP and Jenkins batted vs LHP. But it made me mad every time Ned looked into the camera and said "We're still in first place". Now the popular comment on this board is, we are still 20 games over .500. If they make the playoffs, us boo-ers will be wrong. Its not lookin so good. Boooooooo! I expected more from this team. And so should eveyone else. The team is an entertainment product that they put out there. Yeh, I can choose to not support it or pay my ticket. But dont bill this team as a contender and then play AAA ball. What other contending team would play Hall/Counsel over who they have?? How about Weeks? What is he worth this winter in the trade market?? Im glad the Boo's have caught the ear of the players, media and no doubt management. Sure I dont want Milwaukee to be labeled as a bad place to play. This fan base wont settle for more of the same year after year after year after year. It worked for Wendy Selig and gang, but those days are over. Play major league ball, make average plays, be at least average at your position and the boo's will go away.
  9. Im sure many of the "anit-booing" crowd have written scathing posts about the stupid things Ned does, their frustrations about Rickys fielding and strikeouts, their opinions of Gagne being the 8th inning guy etc. Well, guess what......Ned, the Mangagement and the players dont read your posts. If Im at Miller park and I see Weeks continual poor play (TWO errors late in the game) and Hall swinging at everything, Im not going to compose my next brewerfan.net "vent". Im going to Boo. Sorry. Im watching UNACCEPTABLE play by a team that is supposed to contend for the penant, but instead is playing worse than the worse teams in the league. Nothing has changed. Duram isnt playing, Villanueva isnt getting the ball except when they are losing and Hall is facing righthanded pitching. And Im supposed to be quiet and like it? I know this wasnt intened to be another boo/anti boo thread, but its gone there.
  10. Mine is from years ago in spring training. Watching him crush the ball as a Ranger and thinking that I was "scouting" a great prospect for my keeper computer baseball league team. Someone else got Nix so I traded a shortstop prospect for him that had repeated AA ball and had regressed. That shortstop, Hanley Ramirez was also supposedly "blocked". From there Nix became my irrational "man crush" guy ......that was someday going to make it.
  11. I just looked out the third floor window and there was no sky. The sky IS falling.
  12. I cant recall ever feeling so sad after a game. Oh there have been many where I've been steaming mad. But its hitting me. That feeling I had last year when they were eliminated......ok, a few games before they were mathematically eliminated. Its unfortunate that we are going to waste 2 of the years that we could have played deep into the playoffs. And no CC or Ben next year. And I dont even care about the Packers, so that doesnt cheer me up.
  13. Doesnt sound like there will be any mingling with players. Thats what made last years event fun. Harldy anyone there paid much attention to the on-air interviews and festivities. I hope they do both or do a dinner like they used to. Wouldn't this be the first time this event was held somewhere other than MP? The annual "Diamond Dinner" was held at the Pfister hotel in the off season.
  14. Trouble is trying to find 6 teams to join the league... which cities don't have baseball... New Orleans, Charlotte, Portland, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, Dallas. Dallas/Ft. Worth of course has the Texas Rangers. I still like the idea of baseball in Las Vegas. Maybe add Indy to that list. What I REALLY would like (and I know it will never happen) is a second team in Boston or a third team in the NY, NJ area. Lets change the TV revenue playing field if the economics dont get better for the small market teams.
  15. "20-7?, I agree! But the Cubs will go 19-8." I guess I was planning on one Cub rainout!
  16. There used to be a guy taking tickets that would try to pat down people wearing jackets. totally illegal.
  17. I had a conversation with a Cub fan last week that told me he went to school (i think it was college) with Brad Nelson. He said an opposing team intentionally walked Nelson with the bases loaded TO SCORE THE TYING RUN in hopes of getting a 3rd out with the game tied instead of losing!! THATS respect!
  18. Suppan is great in August and September. Cant wait for game 1 of the playoffs with Sup on the mound.
  19. I like that he is staying with the "as is" rotation....but Im not on board with Ned's idea of Suppan pitching game one of a short series. Unless Suppan has a great September, of course.
  20. I have 2 20 gm packages. ( One in 200 level, one in 300 level). My guess is that they will only offer me one set of playoff tickets. I should have put the second package (new this year) in a different name. Anyone have any experience with this situation?
  21. Who plays OF for the Reds next year with both Griffey and Dunn gone? Bruce and..........maybe Freel. Wouldnt think Patterson would get another chance. Drew Stubbs is just starting AA ball. They probably have to go out and get 2 free agents. Odd, for a rebuilding team.
  22. I cant criticsize the fans who pay big bucks to watch a penant contending team when they boo a guy that makes 10 million dollars serve up back to back homeruns to the last place team that hits the least amount of home runs. This forum has had more than enough booing vs not booing debate. Im not sure why its always an issue here.
  23. Notice tomorrow's pitcher was the person at the bottom of the heap when Prince got pushed back. Does anyone really think that the Brewers organization would actually disclose it to the media if Bush or anyone else was injured in the chaos??
  24. Notice how quick Ned was to point out that Parra has had a pattern of "losing it"(talking about his pitching, not his attitude) after doing well. I wouldnt be suprised to see Parra sent to the bullpen, with McClung in the rotation. Of course it would be to "limit his innings" and to give him a break after losing his last three starts. Michael Barrett got traded to appease Zambrano. Sometimes its not just "no big deal".
  25. Priceless Ned. "Its rude for the media to ask about the fight". I did like the family fight and the neighbors asking about it analogy. Creative.
