  3. How often are baseball players really that close to each other? Other than the umpire hanging over the catcher's shoulder (good excuse to try automated balls/strikes for a shortened season) and the occasional holding the runner on at 1B, baseball players really aren't getting close to each other much less contacting each other. Maybe shorten the batter's box to create a little more room between the batter and catcher. Automate balls/strikes, space out in the dugout and bullpen, maybe ban holding runners at 1B and instead have a limit of how far a runner can lead off. Fairly low risk for transmission. Lol this can't be a serious post. Yeah, baseball players live consistently near or next to each other. The ways are too numerous to count

  5. Are they going to ban tagging? /s Anyway, this is all moot since MLB/MLBPA just agreed to the following conditions to return to play: I have no idea what #1 is saying? What is economically feasible and how does it apply to playing a game at a neutral site? Having the game on tv in front of no fans makes tons of money so...

  7. MLB will want to get TV revenue from games sooner than when they will feel comfortable with fans in stands. I think it is logical to play games with these restrictions at first. Also, if one player tests positive in season, which could easily happen, does play immediately stop again? Troubling..

  9. I recently emailed my ticket rep and asked how unplayed 2020 game tickets would be handled. He responded that an announcement would be coming soon from the Brewers. He mentioned that unplayed games would be exchanged for future games in 2020 or 2021. The 2021 part was nice to hear. Also, there was no mention of refunds. We'll see how true this is. I haven't heard anything official on this yet? Any one else?

  11. I think calling this "likely" is fairly premature at this point. "Possible," sure, but "likely" isn't a given. Likely isn't a given (100%), by definition, right? The odds to me favor no fans in the stands, at least to begin the season initially. IMO, it is more likely or probable to happen because of all that's happened. It's more than just a possibility. IMO, MLB will not go from 0 to 100mph, none to normal, immediately. There are too many concerns about having so many people together, and this concern will continue for months, of course. It is more probable that not, imo. Also, it is probable there are no fans in seats in NYC all year. It is getting closer to probable that we see no games in NYC this year, imo.

  13. So....it could be possible baseball is cancelled in 2020, followed in some form by a players' strike in 2021 since it is year 5 of the 5 year collective bargaining agreement. In the meantime, even if there are baseball games being played, it likely will happen with no fans in the stands. And even when crowds are allowed at some capacity, there are enough worries about Social get togethers, especially in Milwaukee, to limit the kind of attendance numbers that we are used to seeing. Some simply are not coming to games this year or even next. It isn't worth the risk or anxiety that is associated with it. Overall, it isn't a great picture for baseball.

  15. Really? If no games are played, players still are getting all $ on contracts? Players are still accruing service time?

  18. If you tire of reading COVID-19, here are some great Brewers games all in one place, made courtesy of a poster on brewcrewball.net https://www.brewcrewball.com/2020/3/14/21180092/a-collection-of-classic-brewers-games-to-watch-if-you-are-missing
  19. At what point will interstates be closed to regular joes? My guess is this week. Everyone but emergency vehicles and semis would be my guess. If leaders truly want to keep peopke at home or in their communities, this would be one way. Sad. Yet it's logical.
  20. Was the team actually negotiating this? Seems like a throw in to me, but the way it is worded it seems like there was back and forth on game tickets. Mutually agreed upon games? Was there really negotiation on this when we are talking about a 215 million dollar deal? Just 20 games? Were we really negotiating this down from say 30 games? Just 4 tickets? Seems laughable to even include this part in the deal to the public. Just Give him a suite and any tickets he wants and keep it private. We're talking 215 million dollars here to a franchise player and game tickets are part of the negotiation? Kinda like buying a house and negotiating about the doormats.
  21. Yeah, that was ultra quick. Not many times can we say a Wisconsin team ended the year winning a game for a (shared) championship. I think it's the right call too. The odd thing is with these WIAA games being moved and reconfigured to get tourney games with hardly anyone in the stands. We'll see how bent the MLB is on getting started up again.

  23. It is even Possible that we do not see this Wisconsin team play again this season... how crazy quickly has the world changed in like 3 days.
  24. Best team in best conference...and the conference may be the best, at least top to bottom, ever in its history. Wasn't there 8 ranked Big Ten teams this week? If they win the BT tourney, a #3 is not out of question. Playing late great and against the best conference carries severe weight.
  25. Woodruff, Houser, Lindblom, Anderson, and Lauer
