  1. The Reds are making it more difficult to get the Wild Card from the Central, as well as any 100 win team.
  2. Substitute Peralta for Supak and it might get done.
  3. Very exciting to hear. That's all that was missing to this point in the majors. If he makes proper use of an effective enough changeup, watch out. If his changeup is THAT good of a pitch, he should be throwing it somewhat out of the pen as well. No reason to sit on it. It's hard to argue the results so far, though.
  4. Looking ahead at my Saturdays..... I usually stand in line and enjoy the festivities on that Saturday morning/afternoon, waiting in line to get single game tickets. Has anyone heard the date yet? Usually, it is on the last Saturday of February; sometimes it has been the first Saturday in March. That probably narrows it down to February 23 or March 2.
  5. Trice needs to put a good one on the floor, more than even Happ.
  6. There is no such thing as traveling when inbounding the ball. The rule states that on a spot throw in you still have a three foot area in which to move parallel to the sideline. Normal rules about traveling, pivot foots, etc don't apply, it's just a three foot window you're free to move in. If a player violates the three foot area, sometimes a ref will blow it dead and signal a travel because there is no official signal for moving more than three feet on a throw in, so traveling is about the closest thing you can signal. But it's not actually a travel. I think it's called a throw-in violation. You are right about the three foot window. That's a good rule to know. Yet, Happ went outside of that window. Three feet is a small window.
  7. Right.... I did mean a DVD. The 2008 and 2011 DVDs were so cool. I still pop them in yearly.
  8. Has anyone heard if there is going to be one? There were ones given out in 2008 and 2011.
  9. Then again, Machado isn't coming here.
  10. Happ traveled taking the ball out of bounds ( not called or discussed) at the end of regulation vs Purdue. Purdue still got the win, but it was an obvious violation that would have been the lead story if Wisconsin lost in regulation.
  11. We have this year circled. A big arm and a big bat are still comin, whether it be now or the deadline. A little thing like money won't stand in the way, at least not for MA. He can recover that when we are rebuilding. If it makes sense to do, meaning the addition makes us another sizable notch better, he'll back the cash truck up. Trading Ray for Bum falls in this category. Signing Moose or a remaining 2B on the market? Probably not.
  12. How about a different vote? Perhaps George Petak's vote on the funding bill for Miller Park could be alluded to. The driver is watching the Brewers play in Milwaukee because of that one vote. I think you may have something here...
  13. You can leave your Brewer fandom badge at the door, take a long walk, and really think that one over.
  14. Moose turned down 15 million mutual option this year ( not that the Brewers would have picked that up). He'll be shooting for Lowrie $ at least in early January- two for 20.
  15. Right. That game and potentially another Super Bowl win gives him another one or two years....
  16. "Well, surprise, surprise, surprise," Gomer Pyle would beckon. Well, a 2B or SP deal still could happen, but I'm not sure if it is now less or more likely after this signing. We can't have any payroll wiggle room now, can we? Yet, why stop now when a couple other holes could be plugged for a year? Great if we do, but not expected at this moment....
  17. The length of the deal is a bigger issue than the amount of money per year. The history with 6+ year deals for MLB clubs is not good. If he wanted just a 4 year deal, he might get 150 million.
  18. Seems kinda premature to make that sort of statement, don't you think? Any answer other than "yes" would be incorrect here. Kinda premature to say they are a playoff team, too. Who knows how other NFC teams will improve? A whole new offense? A few big play guys? Rookie coach? 2nd year GM? Holmgren, Rhodes, Sherman, and McCarthy didn't do much their first year.... more of a transition disguised as a train wreck. Vikings and Bears should be good too. Eh, I like the Packers and all, but a Wild Card birth would be great expectations. I'll stick with hope for noticeable growth as the season moves on and a better game vs. the Lions at home.
  19. I really do too. I think this move was the first of a very big offseason for the future of the franchise. They need playmakers..... not sure we see that on defense. Another .500 type year is what I feel.
  20. Except Bluemound itself...
  21. I think “a crap ton” is a bit of an exaggeration. There are like three or four. Also “walking distance” is a bit of a stretch too. I’ve made that walk before and have regretted it about halfway through. If you’ve never actually walked from Bluemound to the stadium it’s a lot further than it seems. And on days when it’s either really cold, really hot, or raining making that walk is absolutely miserable. If you have young kids? Forget about it. As far hotels right by the stadium. Not everyone needs it but some people like it. I much prefer it so I don’t have to worry about either taking public transit or paying for an Uber. Ive been to games in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Minneapolis and have stayed at nearby hotels on all three cities. It’s a very nice option. This doesn’t have to be an either or in terms of tailgating or development. As I said there is a bunch of land east of the stadium that probably could be bought up and turned into a stadium district. It would leave plenty of room for tailgating. Right with about all of this..... and who wants to walk that long at 10:00 P.M. in backstreet Milwaukee?
  22. I usually enjoy the February or March news articles that show some of the new offerings or projects at Miller Park. Whether it's a new group area or new furnishings on the Club level, it is fun to see the new ideas and plans for the home Park. Being a new year, it got me thinking about new things I'd like to see at Miller Park. I wrote previously about a Brewers village ala Cardinals or just even a hotel in the parking lot. I don't know how feasible or sustainable these are, but it would be fun to have more to see and do right around the park. I also like what they did in Cleveland and other parks with more shared standing room areas. The Toyota Territory has some shared nights where anyone can view games from there so that is a start. Roof tours would be cool.... not sure if that could ever happen though for safety reasons. Rotating Brewers films (82,87, 08, 11) would be fun to view in the Selig space before a game or on a tour. I think the 88 and 89 Brewers for some reason even have highlight film. I'd like to see the whole left field bleacher area and Friday's reconfigurated. It feels minor leaguish to me to see random restaurant tables by a guard rail as people stroll past you. How many nice seats could be added where the bullpen is? Go the Cubs route and put the bullpens under the stands. Any others?
