  1. Moose has a $15 million mutual option for next year. Perhaps we keep him. Interesting. Not necessarily a rental! Would the Brewers dangle Shaw with Santana and two of Burnes, Peralta, Hiura for deGrom? Stearns wants an ace..... said it before, and he has a few days to get it. Still shocked if it's deGrom, though.
  2. The negativity centers on Shaw playing 2B. Why? He will be shifted when we are up late in games. Put a little trust in CC here. When behind, we need the bats anyways to get us back in the game.
  3. Or we could just not protect Lopez and give him to a team this offseason. Very questionable if he would have made the 40 man... Good use of extra depth to help us now.
  4. Let's do this. Gotta trim those potential unprotected Rule 5 leftovers down anyways......
  5. Gives us depth that we lacked at 3B, as well.
  6. Get a lead, hand it to the bullpen, and put your d in the game. Shaw can start at 2B, doesn't mean he ends there in the 9th. He could go to 3B or even 1B depending on situation. We got, what, something like 50 guys that could be argued to keep on the 40 man this offseason? Some guys should be traded now for something; better than simply handing them to a team next year. Like others said, we will not miss the traded guys because how they were buried on the depth charts. Great move!
  7. Hamels' road numbers are excellent, along with his Wrigley stats where he threw a no hitter. Road- 2.93 ERA His day game numbers, however, are terrible... 0-6. 6 GS 8.28 ERA
  8. We all have to remember that our rotation depth was awful last September, leading us to start relievers in games. It's starting to head that way with injuries popping up (Suter-out, Guerra-DL recently, Nelson-probably not back, Davies-probably not back, Peralta-innings limit probably, Burnes-reliever) and our backups at AAA are largely unproven. Harvey would be a low risk, high reward find. If not him, a rental with experience...
  9. Let's see how he does first. Then let's not be surprised if we don't pick up his option.
  10. CC and DS both are at B+ if I'm grading..... neither are close to being canned. Very tough to compete as a small market in MLB. That could change quickly with CC if we make big moves at the break or in the next season plus to help the big league team.
  11. This is all true. Wins and losses are a pretty big chunk of it too, probably the biggest part, fair or not.
  12. As much as we need him, we won't feel comfortable parting with what it'll take to get him..... not in this market.
  13. They need both back, agreed.
  14. I'll mainly stick with my offseason analysis, slightly different though. Not meant to be negative as much as it looks.... Packers need to win a playoff game. No playoff win and I think MM will probably be gone. Bucks guy gets two years at least, and he need to win two playoff series in the 2019-2020 season (Conf Finals). CC gets this year and next. Without the playoffs in either year, he'll be on thin ice. Expectations are much higher in 2018 than 2016. Stearns gets one extra (2020) to get to the playoffs. On the positive side, if we make the playoffs this year, each has at least three more after 2018. Sniff the WS, you can double it.
  15. Not what was asked.... referring to Hader.
  16. So we all can be like you and never have a doubt? Noticed you made these comments after the streak was snapped, not before.
  17. Standing O was not for Hadar's posts, obviously. Rather, it was largely a show of support for a Brewer after he showed contrition and sorrow for his hate filled words 7 years ago.
  18. Hitting .200 over the last month plus, underachieving consistently for 1 and a half years, and the dumb play is always right around the corner with him that costs us the game.... not a defensive plus option, not a contact hitter that can pinch hit late in games with runners on, CC doesn't pinch run him ala Carlos Gomez late in games for fear of the mistake on the bases- like stealing 3rd in the 9th down 0-4. Just too many negatives to think of him more than the other eh options in our middle infield. He gets to play! Not sure why you're frustrated by his use, comparatively to the others-257 ABs! He hasn't made enough difference to warrant him playing 5 or 6 games a week, though.
  19. Doesn't seem like a CC thing to play around with, considering it is extremely normal this year to have somebody pulled mid inning when in trouble or when pitch count gets high.
  20. People still hate; age doesn't matter. Even our best selves are like filthy rags.
  21. I think the difference is that nobody here initiated the thread on our own. It was in response to something in the news about a Brewers player. To me that makes it different than the stuff of the political board. A brewerfan.net human poster started this thread... so yeah, someone initiated the discussion in the Major League Forum. So writing here in the Major League Forum about morality, discussion about right vs. wrong behavior, why something is wrong, correct punishment for failures, forgiveness, redemption, and all that is fine here since there is/was a Josh Hader story about these race, sex, and ethnic topics? Didn't see that in your rules....
  22. Also, shouldn't this be moved to the politics/religion section? Clearly a moral topic and not how Josh is performing. Most people's responses will be directly tied to what they believe in, whether Atheist, Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc..... if this isn't a can of worms, what is?
  23. If he needs to apologize to several people several times publically, what other wrongs do others have to account for from their youth? Pretty hypocritical that Hader gets blasted when all have said/written stupid things or worse done depraved things.... What's the new norm- say you're sorry when it's on social media? If not, does every player take a confessional before the team each week? Crazy. Great that Josh is apologizing to teammates. Hope it is done and that he doesn't need to go thru this every roadtrip. Hope that he is sorry moreso to the One above.
