  1. DeJesus is hitting .367 in AAA. Not that he should lead off here, but we need to have better options when a lefty starts. Perez, even now that we have an extra OF. I so want to get Kinsler here, as well.
  2. Villar against lefties for 4 months...... .179 Avg .255 OBP .286 Slugging! 24 total bases!!!! 32% Strike out rate! We are in a playoff hunt and this is the guy? Still? This is the guy who should be getting the most at bats in the game? Counsel, please! Somebody, please, any stats on when Villar leads a game off opposed to Anyone else?
  3. In His last 22 outings, he's given up runs 3 times.... he pitched bad tonight and I was surprised he was in and not Knebel with two outs. Yet, he gets tons of ground balls. I wouldn't hesitate getting him in the 7th or 8th, not that he had to stay in for the whole inning or until the Nats get 7 runs in the inning. I wanted him in instead of Banes with a runner on 1st for the double play, but like you said Barnes didn't pitch bad... soft hit balls got thru.
  4. Counsels just as dumb with Villar leading off - fast but can't get on base Get Villar out of the lineup..... AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Leading off against a lefty. Hilarious!
  5. Say that before the hit ..... Why? I can have that feeling at any time. I just don't think he's that great. He's a contact pitcher and I prefer strike out pitchers. Just like I like Barnes more so than others, but he got unlucky tonight. Because you don't say that if he lines out to RF and we're out of the inning.
  6. Would rather have Hughes in there than Barnes when a runner is on 1st .....
  7. JP Breen is full of it or is this Garza happening just happening this afternoon? Was he scheduled to throw yesterday?
  8. Verlander (Cy young runner up in 2016) at the deadline ( when competition to get him is way up) for 2 and a half years....will cost a very nice prospect package (we're talking Hader or Brinson). If we have to take 80% of the salary, the prospect package moves to more B or C type guys, in my opinion.
  9. This is what I' m thinking, as well. Also, I'm assuming the team is Detroit, since they are the one with advanced talks with DS. If I'm Detroit, I look hard at Villar. Villar would be better/cheaper fit for them than Kinsler. They probably want an advanced arm, as well. So.... my official guess: Detroit gets... Phillips Villar Advanced arm (Ortiz, Burnes, or F Peralta) Lower level high upside guy ( Gatewood or Harrison) Brewers get.... Verlander Kinsler, Cash
  10. AAA was playing in Colorado Springs last night... two hour difference.... makes sense if Braun was hurt. Also Dejesus is hitting 367!!!! It would be fun to see what he could do in majors... not sure what move would do that..,
  11. Was Brinson pulled out the same time Braun left the game? Timewise, with us playing early on the east coast, this could be the reasoning. Braun leaves in 7th inning(?), CC calls DS, DS calls Colorado Springs to pull Brinson in 1st inning....
  12. True.... he was pulled again last night.
  13. Or Villar/Peralta for just Kinsler Bring Brinson up ( Perez plays IF) Swarzak for Torres
  14. It's Late season..... we need to have our best players up.
  15. Again, we have a fairly large hole at 2B and in the leadoff spot against lefty pitching... That is Kinsler's specialty, along with stellar defensive play. We could get a top of order guy that makes hard contact and strikes out much less than Villar. If this does happen, what happens with Villar?
  16. I'll second this one rather than doing my own... I'll take 3rd place behind the guy I copied.
  17. What this guy said... good deal that helps us without giving up much from an area of strength... possibly not on 40 man next year anyway. Wren can play more now.
  18. Is it enough to push you off the board and/or internet? Not even close...I will wait until next Monday..but if this is his only move, I guarantee you I'm out. What a joke. Can you just be out now? He probably is wearing a non Brewers cap as he types.... (smirks to team hat thread)
  19. Maybe they have other targets that are not rental types? We could have done both.... rental and whatever. Maybe we still will. At these prices, why not?
  20. When we face lefties like Lester, it sure would be nice to have a .800 + OPS instead of a <200 Avg hitter at 2B.
  21. Man, why didn't we give a better package? It most assuredly wouldn't have taken much.... Wow...
