Adames is a cleanup hitter with a 755 career OPS. Glad he was on fire for a third of the year, but his normal spot on a good team is 7th. Hoskins career OPS is .833…still have hope for him.
Before this series, I was content with a 3-4 road trip…not happy, but content. Really tough to win 3 of 4 anywhere. Now it’s a bad road trip with no wins in LA, a contented one with a win in LA, and a great road trip if we win the series in LA.
Murphy talked about giving Frelick starts at 3B before the season. This is not far-fetched. Regular? No. Kinda like with Black at first. And it looks like he is 5’10” again…not 6’0”.
I think we are very close to that point of whether he opts in or out. If you double his same stats for the second half, I still think he opts out. Also, he could play worse and still opt out with a few big hits in the postseason.
I think he needs to play worse and/or get injured for him to opt in.
My guess is that several B prospects and an A would be needed to get Scherzer. Can’t see him going for less than a small haul with several teams likely interested.
I have no idea how we deal with the rotation/bullpen when several guys come back from injuries….Williams, Koenig, Hall. Bukauskas.
Rob Z is likely gone. Pegeuro and Milner can be optioned, but can hardly see that happening…..have interesting decisions/phantom injuries to come.
Super move…
TB saved 2.4 million and they get a low prospect they like? Sounds reasonable for a small market.
Brewers get a maybe quality SP for 2024 (and 2025 if they so choose for 4ish mil), don’t have to give up a top prospect, get him in early July, and possibly fills a weakness in the rotation.
Great move!! Low cost prospect wise…around 2.5 mil left this year. Has some history of pitching well…. Still Ks guys well this year. And we get him for 2025 if he does well?
A+ for trying… We’ll see how he does.
