Great move!! Low cost prospect wise…around 2.5 mil left this year. Has some history of pitching well…. Still Ks guys well this year. And we get him for 2025 if he does well?
A+ for trying… We’ll see how he does.
Please help with this. Why were BOTH Weeks and Hook out to the mound in the 9th inning of Monday’s game? Is this allowed? I have never seen two coaches out there before? I saw Weeks bring out an extra infielder’s glove. Did that have anything to do with it?
Wilson had a great start last Tuesday…Murphy thought it was his best ever (pitched after 2 IP of Milner). So He gets a bunch of starts yet.
Milner’s role was getting worse all the time over the last month… then Koenig gets hurt so he is back in by default. Payamps is getting shelled or is walking guys. He cannot be 8th inning guy per usual.
Yelich at DH more and less of Perkins would give Mitchell 4 or 5 games a week. Not that difficult. Perkins bat really isn’t an every day bat and he could still pinch run or play defense in late innings. Probably wise to go easier on Yelich anyways with his back injury history.
Doing nothing with the starting pitching would be crazy. Either pony up a bit to get a controlled starter or two, or wait til later July to get a rental.
Standing pat with Peralta, Rea, and change seems almost irresponsible.
Gotta be Hudson…. If I’m Hudson, I’d say if I don’t get it this season, I never will because I’ll never have these types of numbers again.
And Koenig has been just behind these guys…maybe. 1.66ERa 1 Whip 7 wins…so many times getting key outs mid game.
I cannot see this as a seller’s market with so many teams below .500 ……but slow definitely. Half of those slightly below .500 teams will be added to the seller list in 3 weeks. There also are few close division races now. Even the top Wild Card teams have relatively large leads. Urgency to do deals is not there with them as much as other years with tighter leads.
Slightly encourage…
We are Doing something about the small fire brewing in the starters room of the Brewers’ house…. And doing something now rather than waiting til the last week of July.
Hiura hits .880 as career DH in 141 PA, And he is over .800 OPS again this season overall.
Angels have him now at AAA and he has been on fire the last couple of weeks.
