  7. Short night for Khris Davis. He "rolled his ankle" per Wendt on the ground out and left the game.
  8. Wow, nice catch. I didn't even think he was signed yet.I hadn't heard anything either until Steve Wendt was talking about him in the line up tonight.
  9. Khristopher Davis has signed and is in the Helena line up tonight at the DH.
  10. Khris Davis is in the Helena line up tonight as the DH.
  11. 8-1 win for Helena tonight highlighted by the strong pitching performance from Damon Krestalude. Voice of Helena Steve Wendt crediting the work of Shawn Zarraga behind the plate. Missoula definately helped the H-Brew by committing 5 errors tonight.
  12. Tuesday night, Nic Bucci had a very good start as well. I wonder if getting a couple games in at Brevard County and Huntsville prior to starting the season in Helena had anything to do with it? Probably not, but you never know. Maybe a confidence boost going into the season?
  13. Rough 1st inning for Seth. 3 runs, 2 walks allowed. On the upside, 2 strike outs. Hopefully 1st game of the season jitters for Seth and he can settle down.
  14. He still has the 10 games the team added on to the league imposed 50 games right? Also, Baseball America is reporting that Jose Romero was reinstated from the DL. I had forgotten he was a part of the system. Any idea on where he is to report?

  16. Scott Krieger with the 1st HR of the season for the H-Brew, a 3 run shot to center with 2 outs. Helena up 5-0.

  18. Mark Rogers went 3 innings tonight, 6K's, 1 er allowed on a HR. Roque Mercedes with 2 scoreless & hitless innings with 2 K's. Really would like to see Mercedes get bumped up to Huntsville as he would need to be a 40 man addition after this season.
  19. Nick Green getting the rehab start tonight for the AZ Brewers.
  20. Crazyness in Florida continues. Infielder Sergio Miranda making his 1st ever appearance at catcher. So you have the battery of catcher Brett Whiteside pitching to infielder Sergio Miranda.
  21. Weird night in Brevard County. Brandon Rapoza give up his 1st runs of the season. Rob Wooten struggles. BC takes the lead in the 10th only to let Sarasota tie it in the bottom. Now the box score shows catcher Brett Whiteside in to pitch the 11th.
  22. Via email from Huntsville GM Buck Rogers Tonight's game is postponed due to the storms passing thru the area. There was so much water today that the warning track washed away forcing Jamie Hill, our Head Groundkeeper, and Allison Tofflemire, the Booster Club President, to rebuild areas of it with a tractor. The National Weather Service has a Flash Flood Advisory posted at this time; do not attempt to cross water-swollen streets. Tonight's game will be made up in Birmingham in two weeks. The exact date and time will be determined tomorrow, Friday, after we discuss our options the schedule with the Barons staff. We will send that information out in a e-newsletter and post it on our web site when the information is available. Also in Brevard County Mark Rogers with the start going 1 2/3 with 2 walks and 3 strike outs.
  23. It turns out there is another Brewer prospect playing in the Dominican Summer League. 21 year old catcher Jhonatan Javier. Discovered this in a review of the Brewer Franchise Batting Stats stickied above http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2009-organization-batting.shtml?redir
  24. Dan Merklinger went on the DL April 18th. I haven't been able to find out what the injury was. Anyone remember?
  25. Baseball America shows the Brewers and Orioles sharing a DSL team. http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/teams/?tm_id=3245&y=2009 Brewer prospects from the roster are Rolando Pascual, Eilezer Montano, Joan Abreu, Juan Barrini, Jaime King, Edwin Linares, Jose Ramos, Francisco Rivero, Jose Sanchez, Andres Martinez, and Luis Chirinos. This is the 1st I've heard of a re-establishment of a team in the DSL. Like you, I had only heard about the academy being reopened. 1st game was yesterday, a win over the DLS Cubs 2, 5-4. Luis Chirinos went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Rolando Pascual with 1 inning, 1 ER and 1 K, Edwin Linares with the save. Here's the box score. They play again today against the DSL Marlins.
