  1. Wood is looking like a soon to be DH. The fact that he is so young and his defense is bad is a red flag to me.
  2. No thank you on that package.
  3. I disagree that these are future moves. Compare the roster from OD last year to this year. The guys they acquired could all be up this year and helping the team.
  4. I think they keep Zas on the OD roster because you won't need to shuttle anyone for a while and there is bound to be an injury within the first couple of months
  5. The problem is you likely aren't going to option the top 4 (Koenig, Hall, Zerpa and Ashby) and you lose Zas if you cut him. I also think they are going to really use openers against teams with left handed hitters at the top of their lineup.
  6. Most of the bullpen is likely set but maybe you have a different opinion. Lots of lefties but this group is strong. Leverage Megill Uribe Ashby Koenig Non Leverage Hall Zerpa Anderson Zas
  7. I always think the batting order doesn't mean a ton but it is something worth talking about I guess. 1. Frelick (RF) 2. Chourio (LF) 3. Yelich (DH) 4. Contreras (C) 5. Turang (2B) 6. Vaughn (1B) 7. Mitchell (CF) 8. Rengifo (3B) 9. Ortiz (SS) Bench: Perkins, Sanchez, Hamilton, Bauers If I were in charge, I would start Hamilton at 3rd and SS much more than what will probably happen. (never against LHP)
  8. Crime 101 was decent. I was hoping the ending would be better
  9. Who we got for the rotation this season? 1. Woody 2. Priester 3. Miz 4. Patrick 5. Harrison ------------- 6. Sproat 7. Henderson 8. Gasser 9. Drohan 10. Rodriguez 11. Crow
  10. Assuming they did a 3rd base platoon, why would you think it would be the weakest spot by far? The stats are actually encouraging if anything
  11. Signed with the Padres
  12. Fischer has less than 100 at bats in A ball. It would be amazing if he hits AAA this season.
  13. Ortiz is wondering what he has to do
  14. The Angels were one of the least aggressive teams about defensive positioning so the team might think they can help out Rengifo a little bit that way. Obviously the Brewers were one of the most aggressive.
  15. Playing platoons and matchups would be advantageous for the left side of our infield. I don't know if they plan on playing Hamilton as much but I would be in favor of that. Gotta assume the 7/8/9 is some kind of combination of Mitchell/Perkins, Regnifo and Ortiz now. The top of our lineup will need to do most of the heavy lifting offensively.
  16. With that, I expect the Opening Day position players to be set assuming no injuries.
  17. He is good against LHP. Not my first choice but better than what we had.
  18. Unless there is an injury, I don't plan on seeing Quero at all this year and that is fine with me.
  19. Why is it apparent they intend to go with who they have? It looked like they would go ahead with McGuire as the backup catcher until they signed Sanchez. They signed Quintana late in the offseason last season. Arnold always mentions that the roster is fluid and changes. Urias has to agree to a contract. There are plenty of reasons as to why he hasn't agreed yet. By your logic, no one wants Gallen badly enough either.
  20. Urias wasn't claimed in November because we had Durbin. I'm repeating it because it isn't difficult to understand why they would not have claimed him then. The Red Sox missed out on Bregman and the price for Paredes was higher than they wanted to pay. The Brewers took advantage of the situation by getting a couple of pitchers that they liked and that very well could help them out this year. Durbin had decent results but poor underlying metrics. It is quite possible that they felt he was due for regression. The Brewers almost went to arbitration with Contreras over 1.4 mil. Of course they would care about 2.5-3 mil in savings if possible. Urias is brought up because he's available, not expensive and very likely would accept a one year contract. You claim that all the free agents left are garbage. Fine. It is easy to be dismissive when you do not suggest realistic alternatives.
  21. Well probably because Durbin was still on the team in November. What other free agent that can play 3rd base or guy on the roster do you like better?
