  1. Quintana has been a good value signing but we don't need to extend him past this year.
  2. He is talking about replacing those guys on the roster, not trading them.....
  3. I can't take much more of watching Ortiz start on a team that is a contender. Brewers: Castro (BTV: 4.1) Twins: Burke (BTV: 2.5) and Anderson (BTV: 2.5) Castro would fit great in our clubhouse and the lineup. You are giving up potential in Burke and Anderson but that's the price you pay at the deadline. Brewers: Naylor (BTV: 3.1) Dbacks: Arienamo (BTV: 7.4) It really seems like the Brewers do not have high hopes for Arienamo. Let him move to a different team and bring in a vet that replaces Bauers. Brewers; Garcia (BTV: 0.7) Rangers: Baez (BTV: 2.5) Garcia raises the talent level of the team. He plays good defense and has power. Our system is so deep that we likely won't miss a guy like Baez. Overall the defense will be hurt a little bit but I would like the power and offense better with these moves. Keep Ortiz as the utility guy and let him play defense late in games. 13 man offense: Frelick (OF), Collins (OF), Garcia (OF), Chourio (OF), Yelich (DH/OF), Durbin (IF), Turang (IF), Castro (IF), Hoskins (IF), Naylor (IF), Ortiz (IF), Contreras (C), Haase (C)
  4. No. I asked about getting a 2nd baseman. Everyone is focusing on 3rd baseman and I get that but what about finding a 2nd baseman.
  5. The value is fine but I would have to feel confident that Abrams could play 3rd or 2nd.
  6. My question was related to 2nd baseman. You could pick up a 2nd baseman and just move Turang.
  7. If we may have to move Turang, should we be looking at 2nd baseman? Any good ones available? It might be tough to move half of your infield around if you pick up a third baseman.
  8. -.3 War in 2024 (49 games) and -.4 War (18 games) is not plenty solid. The Yankees agree as they have been sending out 38 year old Paul Goldschmidt to play first and his defense is below average as well. I like the idea of trading our pitching depth for controlled hitting. Rice hasn't shown he is more than a platoon batter with poor defense. Rice would be a decent target if you believe in him getting better but I am not giving up Patrick to do it. For Rice (BTV: 18.1), I would do Quintana (BTV:3.4) and Koenig (BTV: 10.3) or Mears (BTV: 10.8)
  9. -.4 WAR in 18 games is not solid.
  10. No thank you from me. He should be strictly a DH and has pretty bad splits. Trade them back Cortes or Quintana and one of our relievers.
  11. If you're gonna have a really bad game, might as well defend it to the death
  12. After seeing how poorly Levonas pitched this year, give me Frank instead
  13. Gurriel is one of the worst defensive players in baseball, of course they would be open to trading him.
  14. The new Jurassic Park was just okay. I was with a big group that was probably more enthusiastic going into it than I was. You will get exactly what you expect in the movie.
  15. I thought the Allstar game and Home Run Derby were the best I have seen in a while.
  16. Let's say you are a customer at a retail store or restaurant. Instead of saying hi or something, they just stare at you. In the last few years I have had quite a number of interactions at these places where the worker didn't say one word. I saw the discussion on reddit and thought it was interesting.
  17. Anyone else ever been a victim of the Gen Z stare?
  18. Assuming we will sign 4 of the 11-20 picks, which four would you go for? Here's mine: Hughes, Underwood, Bock and Cadiz
  19. I wonder how much communication is done on draft day with these players or are negotiations set in stone? If a kid slides, do you call him up and offer a number lower than his original demand to see if he'll take it? There doesn't seem to be a lot of time to do things like that.
  20. I'm seeing comments (not necessarily on here) that think that we will be way underslot overall on these picks. I guess I don't see more than a modest amount. I hope I am wrong.
