  1. 1. Darvish 2. Greinke 3. Arrieta
  2. Greinke's value right now is very low with all of the FA starters still unsigned.
  3. No way Cleveland accepts that trade, it's not even close.
  4. This is a huge stretch. He is old now and getting older makes you slower, less athletic, and more injury prone. He would be lucky to play half of the games if he even attempted 2nd base.
  5. Braun to second base? Clancy, time to celebrate!
  6. Probably not throwing his splitter as much, or at least I hope not.
  7. Any thoughts on trading Santana, moving Braun to first and then platooning Phillips/Broxton in right? That outfield defense would be outstanding.
  8. Has Braun done any work at first? It isn't that long before spring training.
  9. If I were Cain, I would easily have taken the 80 million offer instead. Total money on your last contract means a lot.
  10. I wouldn't quite see he should be that half of the platoon, but with Braun/Thames at 1b, he would clearly be a better option as an emergency 1b. With Braun and Thames you have two guys who can be borderline regulars at 1b, and one of them will be available to pinch-hit almost every game. There's no reason to waste a roster spot on such a limited guy like Aguilar as a 3rd-string 1b and pinch-hitter. Vogt can be the emergency LHB 1b and Perez the emergency RHB 1b. Both of those guys are infinitely better uses of a roster spot because of what else they can do. Perez's value on defense and the basepaths is so much better that it could almost close the gap with Aguilar even regardless of the fact that he can play 4 other positions well. You can probably even add 2 more positions that he plays about as well as Aguilar plays 1b. They need the extra reliever, period. Suter (or Hader) won't give you many innings per start, and guys like Anderson, Davis, and Chacin aren't exactly big innings-eaters either. Woodruff will probably have an innings limit as a young player, and Nelson will too when he comes back. This is one of the easiest offseason choices they will make. My post was made with the assumption that Santana gets traded
  11. If you don't feel Aguilar is worthy of a roster spot, why not have Perez be that half of the platoon? I'm not saying his splits are great for it but how many lefty starters do we face? Also, I would imagine he would be a pretty good defender.
  12. Why is it poor asset management? A Thames/Aguilar platoon is likely to put better numbers than a regressing Ryan Braun at first base. It is no sure thing that Braun would be even an average first baseman defensively. I can't imagine that Thames or Aguilar have much trade value at all by themselves. Santana should get you a decent player.
  13. We will need more than that to be title contenders. I am hoping for playoffs. If you get to the playoffs, you have a shot. This isn’t the NBA. Well yeah because there are less teams that make the playoffs in MLB.
  14. It's also $5 million short, which is probably a signing bonus probably spread out over the 5 years. Did they include the performance bonuses in the $80 million?
  15. We will need more than that to be title contenders. I am hoping for playoffs.
  16. This kind of makes sense as a salary dump. The Dbacks were looking to get rid of Greinke to save money but maybe they will do the easier trade and get rid of Corbin. Getting him would give our pitching prospects another year to take over his spot. I would not give much at all to acquire him however.
  17. Wait, so now we don't believe HighHeat? He said the trade is going to happen.
  18. Putting Braun at first is poor asset management. Santana is going to be traded.
  19. The drunk driving part is an interesting part of this all. Who's to say KC won't kick some money in?
  20. Hopefully he goes to Minnesota.
  21. Any thoughts on acquiring Salazar to be the 8th inning guy and then signing Cobb to fill out the rotation? Not that I am saying it is a great idea but Salazar did pitch out of the pen a little bit last season.
  22. Thank you! Im changing formats so people can really just see me as the players do. Im just tired of having to not be myself at work. I finally said screw it at age 35 Better for everyone listening lol! #badidea Are you having a Jerry Maguire moment?
  23. Maybe the plan is to move Yelich to left and put Phillips in right for defense at the end of games?
