  1. The odds of Mitchell, Frelick, Wiemer, and Chourio all being worthy starters is very low. I would be thrilled if 3 of them pan out.
  2. Here is what I would do. 1. Sign Justin Turner 2 years, 24 million. 2nd year is a mutual option with 3 million dollar buyout. (first year, 10 million, 2nd year 14 million) If he tries to play us like he might have done last time, move on to Drury. 2. Sign Cueto for one year 8 million dollars. Honestly, I could be way off here but he wasn't listed as one of the top 50 free agents so I can't imagine he will get a huge deal. The rotation was not as good as we were hoping last year and it would be good to have a veteran. 3. Sign Seth Lugo for 1 year, 4 million dollars. He would take over the Boxberger role. Rotation Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Cueto, Lauer, Ashby Bullpen Williams, Lugo, Houser, Bush, Guerra, Milner, Varland Lineup Yelich, Adames, Winker, Turner, Tellez, Contreras, Urias, Mitchell, Frelick Bench Caratini, Hiura, Brosseau, Taylor
  3. Old Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .597 Old Starting DH OPS (2022): .700 New Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .860 New Starting DH OPS: .688 So far so good overall and we got a lot younger. I am looking forward to better defense from our rookies. Hopefully between Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, Taylor and Turang we can get some production.

  5. As of now, I think the team is better than last year. Let's try and upgrade at 3rd, get one more "A" bullpen guy and some more rotation depth and I will be happy.
  6. I don't think it would have been too terrible if those two were traded for Ruiz. Ruiz HAS to be graded differently by us and the A's
  7. RIP to me using Ruiz as a throw in for trade ideas. Almost makes me think there is something wrong with Contreras? Even if he stinks, you can't get mad at this trade because it was too good to pass up on.

  9. Yeah a trade is probably what we should do. I am a believer in Quero but he is probably 2 years away so a stop gap of at least 2 seasons would be nice. The Braves have 3 catchers, maybe we can swing a deal for one of them.
  10. While I agree that we need some help against LHP, it would not be wise to spend a lot to do it. I like Drury in theory but not if we spend all of the money we are planning to spend this offseason on him. I would rather upgrade at catcher as I would prefer VC to be the backup and I don't believe Felicano is ready/good enough.
  11. His OBP is good because he hits for a high average, not that he walks a lot. To give up top end talent, I'd prefer OBP and Slugging or at the very least potential for Slugging to go up. I think Arraez is what he is right now. A good player but not elite.
  12. This screams of the Twins selling high on Arraez. I would not give up any of our top end talent for him.

  14. Yes, catcher is definitely a question mark yet. I wonder if they could turn one of their outfield prospects into a catcher? Not a huge Caratini fan but it would be nice to have someone younger to pair with him. Also, you don't think Keston will be on the team?
  15. Winker replaces Renfroe as the team dbag. I like this trade as we get a little younger and added some depth. Winker is a bounceback candidate.
  16. Yes I did. It's a little annoying that it takes 5 days to get into your account but I've now deposited twice. $42 earned so far which is more than I earned in my regular savings all year.

  22. What are you guys finding for good savings interest rates right now? I am sitting on a sizeable house down payment and want to be doing better than what I am doing right now.
  23. Opportunity Cost is the Risk. Not sure how your realtor explaining that they weren't seriously interested in selling is going to help sell that house that's been on the market for 6 months because they have to sell now. I hear that and I think I am going to use every piece of leverage to get this house for as low as possible.
  24. Uh no, there is risk because there are only so many buyers in this area with the kind of money that would buy your very expensive house. You say no after having it on the market for over 6 months to an offer that is at ask or over ask, you won't get that buyer again. That buyer will move on or just build their own house and say go pound sand. There is absolutely risk and saying otherwise is not understanding the basics of buying and selling. Yes I said you would need another place lined up because you need somewhere to live if you sell your only house. I mean you could live in a hotel for a while but that would be pretty dumb.
