  1. I get where other fans complain about the Packers getting the calls, but the guy had Bahk's facemask -- twice. I think a well-coached team is going to force the other team to commit penalties. Oh, for sure. It was completely legit. I just meant that I thought the play calling in the initial sequence was weird. Nice to have the penalty keep the drive moving.
  2. What an odd drive. But a very fortunate penalty.
  3. Is two a lot since the XPs got moved back? I thought that was his 4th this season. It's at least 3. Edit: Nope it's 4 this season. Not sure where you are getting 2 since they moved the XP back. I miscounted. Still, my question remains because I genuinely want to know- what’s the average number of XPs missed by a kicker in a year since they moved it back?

  5. Snacks Harrison has apparently requested his release from Seattle. You really have to wonder what may have happened if he had actually visited Green Bay. Seems like it could have ended better for both sides, at least IMO.
  6. Something I've been saying since May, one more time for emphasis: Just because you don't agree with what the team did in the draft last spring mean it was bad. But, judging a draft before 2-3 years has gone by is probably bad. And just because a guy wasn't 'projected' by online mock draft sites to go where they went doesn't automatically mean the team was wrong. I'd have thought that the front office would have earned a lot of benefit of the doubt with Jenkins and Savage by this point.
  7. I had a similar thought last night about Zimmer. Checked-out performances like that get coaches fired. Honestly, I think he’s the best Vikings coach they’ve had in a decade or two, so it’d be prime Vikings to can him....
  8. Such a great counterpunch after Sparty hit them between the eyes after the half.
  9. How is that 14 years ago already?
  10. Sounds like there’s a legit chance Linsley may be able to go against the Titans. Getting him back and moving Jenkins back to guard can only make the line better...
  11. We'll never know, will we? That's part of the issue, I guess.
  12. I think that team lost three games that year, all by a TD or less, with two of them happening literally on the last play of the game. Insanity. That team was indeed good enough to win the whole thing in a playoff.
  13. Ok, made it through both 1 and 2. I have to say, I think the point above might be a fair take. I think if two had come first, people would think it was a good season, then would have been blown away by one had that come next. Having the benefit of a well-after-the fact watch and lowered expectations, I think that helped some. I admit, two episodes in, I was really hooked and looked forward to the next episodes. Which brings me to the problems as I saw them: After setting the story up really well in the first two episodes, they spent the next three expanding tangent after tangent, rather than moving the main story forward. Odd. Obviously, Vince Vaughn's performance was a low-light... it seemed like we were watching him figure out how to play the character as the season went on. And finally- Stan? I truly don't understand how a guy that, by my count, had 30 seconds of pre-death screen time, and was likely described in the screenplay for those scenes as 'random henchman #1', had such an astounding and puzzling amount of time devoted to his death, the cause of it, and the aftermath... Anyway, looking forward to season 3.
  14. Really funny, as the first thing I thought was wondering if they were related....
  15. I think you can safely assume that you can get high-speed internet and either HuluLive or YouTube TV for ~$115. So, again depending on what add-ons you have that effects that price, that would be a $400 savings-ish at a rate that you don't have to call and negotiate after 12-24 months repeatedly.
  16. I won't disagree with any of the points regarding recruiting/hoarding of talent, etc., but I will note that there IS more turnover amongst these teams than we acknowledge. Remember unstoppable powerhouses like Florida State/Florida/Nebraska/USC from just a decade or two ago? Clemson was an also-ran in the ACC until Dabo, etc. Georgia is a newcomer to the big stage. These programs DO come and go, but it usually corresponds to a serious coaching change, both positively and negatively. Whether this will hold true in the playoff era or not remains to be seen, I guess. I think that one of the better ways to chip into the 'powerhouses' notion is to give more people a chance to knock them off. It simply can't hurt recruiting at a place like Cincinnati if they A)get into the playoff, and B)actually find a way to knock off one of the big boys. Add in the fact that it will undoubtedly on some occasion eventually yield a 7-seed type actually winning the thing, and it can't possibly be bad for the sport, IMO.
  17. Immense positional versatility, but his ~.675-.700 OPS thus far (in a modestly small sample) would be a plus in the IF and bad in the OF.
  18. I can get behind this modification. Just put 'highest ranked non-power five' gets an auto birth, and I'm fine with that. It should be perfectly effective in addressing the 'UCFs' of the world and eliminating that issue.
  19. Internet was basically a wash, but going from HBO to Max accounted for at least~$7-10 of that number. So, still about a $600 savings for me personally.
  20. Uverse. And they stopped their willingness to deal. And to clarify, that was the all-in price (cable/internet/premiums/etc).
  21. I'd love to see the breakdown of how you came up with this.... I went back and looked at our actual expenses before cutting the cord, and we went from $200.72 on cable per month to $142.52. Not thousands for us (we have bells and or whistles on our service), but that's $700 a year. Others can likely find more savings, as TPlush suggests.
  22. Auto bids for the power five, then next three in as at-larges. If you're not ranked in the Top 8 in the country, you have no claim at playing for the title, IMO.
  23. Hard to complain about Linsley just because he’s missed time due to the injury. If he’s healthy, I agree. But yeah, Tonyan and Crosby are major snubs. A nice reminder of how really good some of the Packers’ individual performances have been this year.
  24. Happy for Jenkins too. His versatility has been so great for the line, and he’s been really good since basically day one here.
  25. News that HOF LB and former Packer coach Kevin Greene passed away today at 58. More info to come, I’m sure.
