  1. I really can’t believe how the Badgers’ season has unfolded. On to 2021.
  2. As soon as he puts cleats on we’re going to mount a comeback. This made me laugh. At least he’s not returning punts....
  3. Mertz is basically Hornibrook without the short accuracy at this point in time.
  4. If Watson just falls on that ball instead of trying to pick it up, they keep possession.
  5. Nice to see the other team make the terrible decision to punt on 4th and short in the opponent’s territory.
  6. Finished my Sopranos rewatch last night. Such an interesting show. I didn’t go into it with the intention of doing so with the upcoming prequel movie in mind, but now I’m super excited for the movie.
  7. For those starting to pay closer attention to playoff scenarios, the Packers wrap up the division with a win and a Viking loss.
  8. What jumps would he have needed to make? He was already at AA and did well there. Were the Dodgers sending him back to A ball? You're seemingly arguing against a point that few if anyone is making. The expected return was nothing. This appears to be a bit more than nothing. That's it.
  9. Here's a direct quote: Not sure how there can be continued confusion. He spent the last 1/3 of the season at AA, and certainly would have done the same in 2020 with possible advancement to AAA. When the 2021 minor league season starts, he'll start at AA or AAA. Not a low minor league guy.
  10. Because I didn't say that? I said a lottery ticket from the low minor leagues. As he's been in AA/AAA, the actual return is indeed a bit better than a lottery ticket from the low-level minors.
  11. I really don't get the frustration here, or why the reason for that tone. The Brewers got something for a guy they were reportedly 10 minutes away from non-tendering and getting nothing. Yep, he's likely to amount to little, like most minor leaguers. Still, I think the assumption was a lottery ticket-type low minor league guy, and this does appear to be a bit more then that.
  12. This point has been suggested here before, perhaps by you, and I’ll again note that this doesn’t work this way.
  13. Cron is actually pretty good. I don't really want Vogelbach playing 1B at all, but Cron is a good option there.
  14. We all have our own opinions on what may or may not be possible, but it's impossible for any of us to know for sure. I'm hopeful that they can find $10 for a potential needle-mover like him despite the current circumstances, but who knows....
  15. Good questions. There's literally no way a guy like Erceg should be included in these projections....
  16. I don't think it's completely crazy to think that their entire offseason strategy could revolve around A)signing one more significant FA, like Semien, and B)hoping that the rest of the offensive roster simply reverts back closer to career norms. Not an unreasonable strategy, IMO, which could work in and of itself.
  17. Semien’s value is immense as an SS. His bat plays well at 3rd if he hits like he did in 2019. If he hits like he did the rest of his career (.725-ish OPS), he’s an all-star caliber SS, and a below average 3B offensively. But, if he plays like he did in 2019, he’s MVP caliber wherever he plays.
  18. Yeah, regardless of how you feel about the merits of what the BigTen did yesterday, I think it’s apparent that they swapped a potentially interesting game that may have been close for one that a lot will turn off quickly.
  19. I believe Cron has become a solid defensive 1B as well, so he'd make sense for the logical close-and-late defensive substitution if they do use Vogelbach there too.
  20. Note that the Duquette proposal is Davis OR Gimenez, not both. I too would be more interested if it was both...
  21. The value of his house isn't held within his bank account, based on my knowledge of how bank accounts work.
  22. Very likely accurate. The difference is that no one here has made a statement that e-learning is proving to work well. Regardless, best wishes to your daughter as you navigate these tough times.
  23. I'm asking for proof because it was stated that proof was there. How about we let the poster who stated that there was proof respond to support his statement before we jump in and state that proof couldn't exist? It either does, or doesn't, right? If it does, he should be able to provide it. If it doesn't, he should also be able to acknowledge that. Many of us are aware of the ongoing, lvalid concerns. But if it truly is "is once again proving to be a trainwreck when it comes to actually educating kids, particularly young children" , I think we'd all benefit from being able to review that data.
  24. Is there any legitimate evidence of this at this point beyond personal assumptions and anecdotal experiences/opinions? Here's a statement from AAP in August. I'm not sure one could consider it legitimate evidence, but it an informed opinion from a relevant professional organization. They don't describe e-learning as a 'trainwreck', but do highlight negative consequences. https://services.aap.org/en/pages/2019-novel-coronavirus-covid-19-infections/clinical-guidance/covid-19-planning-considerations-return-to-in-person-education-in-schools/ Sorry, my question was regarding the point of "elearning is once again proving to be a trainwreck when it comes to actually educating kids," which implies data/proof/measured results from the current school year. As your link is from August, it likely doesn't include such info from the fall 2020 school year, or factor in the changes/enhancements that likely have improved the experience for children relative to the haphazard way things were done in the spring on very short notice. When stating something as concrete as "proving", I'm curious to see the data supporting that proof.
