  1. Source? Everything I'm seeing says Snacks will be in Seattle today and is scheduled to visit Green Bay on Wednesday. I would think there's a chance Seattle doesn't let him leave the building without signing on the dotted line. And this is exactly what happened. Seattle is signing him ahead of his previously scheduled visit to Green Bay. He didn't think he'd get an actual 53-man spot in Green Bay, and chose to take a practice squad deal with Seattle? Who is advising him? Has that person looked at the Packers' D-line depth chart?
  2. Second draft related hot take- they not only drafted with the intention of the guys they took having little contribution this year, but they also did so with this 'cap reckoning' in mind....
  3. Yeah, not much leeway there, barring some serious Russ Ball cap maneuvering that may be possible that we're just unaware of. They can free up ~$9-10mil moving on from Lowry and Kirksey, so that's something.
  4. That may be so on the whole, but based on my personal first-hand observations in the current horrendous hot spots of the Fox Valley and Brown County, mask compliance is very, very low. I think the current 'this is just the virus running its course' mantra is the latest attempt de jour to try and minimize the human responsibility for the current situation unfolding as poorly as it is. There have been immense failures on a personal, business, and federal/state/local governmental level, and attempts to diminish culpability in that regard are plentiful.
  5. Yep, Love has more value overall to the Packers as the guy they develop over the next 2-3 years to replace Rodgers just like they did with Rodgers from 05-07.
  6. ‘We have seen over the course of the pandemic that certain groups, such as healthcare and social care workers that are in frequent close contact with others, are more likely to pass on COVID-19 than other groups, for example those working from home,’ explains Susskind. ‘Focusing testing on groups who are at particular risk of spreading COVID-19 at regular intervals is a far better use of scarce testing resources than testing the entire population at random, as has recently been discussed globally.’ I think this is both logical and completely unsurprising. If there's a way to re-open at a larger scale and safer, it has to involve some sort of testing protocol to try and catch asymtomatic spread, which continues to be one of the largest problems with the virus. It obviously makes more sense to test front-line workers with the potential to be 'super-spreaders' like HCWs, teachers, etc. than it does to have companies test people that work in their own office each day, etc. Developing testing protocols for those high-risk workers will be key.
  7. I think lost in all of the social media glee about Mertz taking over is that the Badgers are a positive COVID test away from Chase Wolf starting 2-3 games for them this year per Big Ten protocols....
  8. I guess we may never know for sure, but I'd be shocked if he couldn't have received more on the market. They literally traded one of the best receivers in the league for a guy that was a great RB five seasons ago (an eternity in RB life span) and to move up from a 4th to the 2nd. The latter part of the trade was somewhat necessitated by O'Brien trading away their 1sts in last year's draft and 2021, but he didn't even do that part right since they didn't actually add a pick. The Johnson part of the trade is just puzzling. I simply can't believe they wouldn't have been able to grab a clean first for Hopkins alone.
  9. Well it's hard to blame Bill O'Brien for struggling in Houston when his GM keeps handcuffing him. How much buyer’s remorse do you think team leadership had on that promotion? “He’s won us four division titles, I’m sure he can handle the personnel side just fine. What could possibly go wro....” [O’Brien makes two franchise-crippling trades within months of taking over the personnel side] “Oh.”
  10. Quick list so I don't forget things overnight: 1)For a team that we all thought lacked WR talent coming into the season, they sure don't seem to lack pass catchers. Who, in their wildest dreams, could have thought that Adams and Lazard would go down and we'd still score seemingly at will? Kudos to the staff for knowing what they had in Tonyan and for utilizing guys like Williams in the passing game so well tonight. 2)The Falcons.... yech. Quinn is a dead man walking. That was a team that 3-4 years ago had an MVP QB, two very good tandem backs, two elite WRs, etc and they blew a Super Bowl. Now, that talent has bled away and they're left with an aging star receiver, and an old looking QB. Terrible defensive talent and coaching and an offensive scheme so bland it would make Barry Alvarez proud = 2nd NFL coaching vacancy. Soon. 3)The defense is... doing what it take to win? Granted, I don't know how that Falcons team even HAD those big leads to lose after watching them today, but they held them to 16 points despite a LOT of injuries during the game. 4)That said, I really, really hate the 'game is basically over but we'll give up a 75-yard TD drive in 2 minutes just to make it interesting' that they seem to have in all of these games. 5)Speaking of injuries, I really don't like the early byes, but it feels like this comes at a good time in that regard. A lot of banged up guys tonight. I'm hopeful that 2 weeks gets Clark and Adams back on the field at the very least. Kind of sucks to have it come when you're on such a roll, but I think it's a good fit for them here. 6)A nice 8 tackle, 3 sack night for Z, who was around the ball a ton tonight. 7)Tonyan. 8)These night games are not ideal in my mind, so having two of them in consecutive weeks.... ugh. 9)Bad night for the refs for 'assuming there was a penalty' a few times. Seemed like the umpire especially was 'assuming' an illegal block in the line play without the penalty actually happening at least twice tonight.
  11. That wasn't on him. Terrible throw by Ryan and Amos knocked it away right as it got to him. I was more referring to zero catches despite being their best receiver left by far. But finally getting open for a fairly easy TD only to have your QB throw a duck was a fitting end to his night for sure.
  12. Letting them move the ball waaaay too quick here.
  13. Watching this Falcons offense with a huge deficit is like watching the Badgers’ offense with a huge deficit.
  14. Ryan looks lost. Happy feet, feeling phantom pressure. He looks like a guy very uncomfortable with the team around him.
  15. The play by play guy referred to Matt Ryan as Aaron or Rodgers twice on the same drive earlier tonight.
  16. I wonder if the Falcons will let Quinn board the plane home at Austin Staubel after the game....
  17. Jenkins seemed to be guilty of having the guy he was blocking fall over.
  18. Atlanta is using timeouts? Even Mike McCarthy thinks that’s crazy.
  19. The rules may have changed, but some defensive holding penalties require the ball to actually get thrown. Since the ball wasn’t thrown, no penalty, I assume?
  20. Jamal Williams appears to be a very productive part of the passing game plan....
  21. Hot take- I think they knowingly took three guys that they knew wouldn’t contribute much this year but would dominate next year.
