  1. A 10 minute drive that ends in a field goal? Ok....
  2. Like I said earlier, I’d like to know where he was touched in that process. The nose of the ball was at the goal line at the end of his slide.
  3. Don't exactly have the A squad tonight. Soooooo accurate.
  4. I’m surprised the broadcast didn’t question whether Shepherd was actually touched before he slid to the goal line on the 3rd down play.
  5. All 1st rounders on their o-line? They should maul us in the run game if their coaches are smart. But they’re not.
  6. Yeah. I think Patricia and Quinn are now on the hottest of hot seats. Honestly, someone posted that McCarthy is a fluke comeback/terrible ST play away from 0-4, and I wonder how hot that seat would be in Dallas if that was the case....
  7. Can't believe it took them this long to figure out he sucks. They should probably also fire the guy who gave him both those jobs. It's remarkable that they didn't just can him after that horrible Hopkins trade. They're horrible, and he traded away their 1st AND SECOND this year so they can't even capitalize on their horribleness.
  8. I would have enjoyed listening in on that phone call this morning between Adams and Matt Lafleur. No doubt, that’d be awkward. Though I doubt MLF wakes up and scrolls through player tweets. No, probably not LaFleur directly, but I'd bet my next paycheck that the Packers have interns or marketing staff that monitors the players' social media accounts...
  9. I'd say it's 50/50 that it was pulled do to disciplinary action or intentional misdirection....
  10. Is there anything to back this up from quotes/reports, etc.? Or is this still just assumptions?
  11. I was all about a Hader for McNeil/Smith deal last offseason, and I still am this year. Solves a LOT of problems.
  12. Can someone remind me of the IR rules now since they've changed so much in the past several years? If I recall correctly the rule starting this year is that it basically works like an MLB IL, with a 3-week minimum but unlimited players can return? If I'm understanding it correctly, ESB/Lazard/Kirksey can ALL come back at some point this year.
  13. I think it's also fair to note that it's much, much harder to make up NFL games than it is to have multiple 7-inning double headers in baseball. You basically have to have two teams find room in their schedule and extend their season by a week. One game is probably doable, but if a team has to juggle now and again due to positive tests in November, that team is going to be a logistical nightmare for the league.
  14. He already would have banked the buyout. So the 2-3 million would essentially mean the Brewers are paying him $6-7 million in 2021, which seems like a fair amount.
  15. Cam Newton tests positive and is out tomorrow. Word is the Patriots are holding off on their departure to KC.
  16. Great read, thanks for sharing!
  17. Sorry John, this is one of the worst hot takes in the nearly 20-year history of the message board.
  18. Yeah. They really built a solid o-line despite the loss of a good RT.
  19. ‘Fatigue’ may be having an effect, but my personal observation is that it’s the people/demographics who didn’t care to take precautions in the first place that are taking less precautions.
  20. I found the following chart and commentary from the initial link very interesting: Surgical face masks significantly reduced detection of influenza virus RNA in respiratory droplets and coronavirus RNA in aerosols, with a trend toward reduced detection of coronavirus RNA in respiratory droplets. Our results indicate that surgical face masks could prevent transmission of human coronaviruses and influenza viruses from symptomatic individuals.
  21. This is, IMO, largely the continuing issue with masks- a misguided understanding of what the PURPOSE of the mask actually is. All of the 'you can't live in fear/it's a personal choice' stuff on social media is driven by the incorrect belief that the mask is to protect YOURSELF. It's not, unless you have an N95. Wearing the mask is to reduce the chance of you transmitting it to OTHERS. A lot of people either don't understand it, or don't care to understand it due to how absurdly politicized the issue has become. Helmet laws are the exact opposite- they're there to protect you. I guess if you personally choose to put yourself at risk by not wearing a helmet, ok then. But equating the two is an illustration of a lack of understanding. If you 'make a personal choice' not to wear a mask, you're consciously choosing to endanger others out of personal selfishness.
  22. Link to support your claim? Plenty of science to support the opposite: https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/417906/still-confused-about-masks-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-mask/art-20485449 https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/coronavirus-face-masks-what-you-need-to-know
  23. I'm increasingly convinced that you have like 8 NFL coaches that are truly great at their job, 10 or so that are the 'head coach for a couple of years then canned' guys, and the rest are the NFL retread-types that somehow keep getting jobs based on something they did well in their past. I think Pederson is one of the latter- he's an acceptable HC who was able to put everything together one year and win it all. And that'll punch his ticket to get another HC job after the Eagles can him eventually.....
  24. Yeah, that a better way of expressing the point I was trying to make. It's like the opposing coaches are so focused on what their own offensive agenda is, that they ignore the fact that they only need to hand the ball off to move the ball vs. our defense. The Saints played into our hands with their game plan yesterday.
  25. Good teams lose a 3-game series to inferior teams all the time. I don't think it's anything close to impossible to think that the Brewers could pull that off, even vs. the mighty Dodgers.
