  1. These are two good teams with good coaches who both botched their way into overtime.
  2. I thought spike it, then you can throw over the middle and call your last timeout. He made the kick, so overtime coming anyways. I think they robbed themselves of a shot for the end zone or two, though.
  3. So strange.... why wouldn’t you use your timeout there?
  4. That’s one of the most terrible ‘kill some clock’ drives I’ve ever seen....
  5. So if this holds up, we want Philly, right?
  6. Berger is a nice get. I understand that highlight reels are just that, and we don't see any of his 2-yard carries and such, but he looked like he was playing at a different speed than much of his competition. Supposedly they're still in on Bradford despite Berger's verbal, so there's the potential to add another talent to the backfield as well.
  7. Congrats to LeRoy Butler, named a Finalist for the Hall of Fame today! I certainly think he's deserving, but I'm a bit surprised to see him make it as a finalist after 14 years of eligibility and not much buzz before now.
  8. I think the chances of Cephus returning is at about 5%. If Cephus comes back he might be able to get his stock value up to a 2nd round pick which probably doesn't change all that much of where he would be picked in this upcoming draft. Cephus looks to be a 3rd-5th round draft pick and if he come back he could maybe boost his value into a 2nd round pick. I don't think it would be wise for him to come back and risk injury to improve his draft position. I don't think this is accurate. If Mertz is as good as people on the internet seem to think he is, he could really benefit from a more open offense, and in a weaker draft, climb higher. And the different between a 5th round pick and a 2nd is pretty significant as it is.
  9. Yikes. Hadn't realized his cap number was that high. Considering they'd only carry a $2mil dead cap number if they cut him, that seems possible if they can't work out an extension to re-work that number.
  10. Did he crumble, though? He threw a pick as he got hit while throwing, and there was ONE play where he dumped it out of bounds too quickly. Other than that, he did enough to win, IMO.
  11. There's admittedly ZERO certainty that Wisconsin even drives into Oregon territory to make an attempt, and there's even less certainty that they make the FG, but to let a garbage, poor interpretation of a subjective rule in a key moment of the game rob them of any opportunity is just wrong. I'll even BUY that call if Davis is the eventual receiver, but he pushed a guy who had initiated contact with him, who was also a defender that had zero effect on Ferguson's catching of the ball. It's just bad.
  12. FWIW, Terry McAulay confirms that shouldn't have been OPI. Which makes me feel so much better....
  13. First break in a while for Wisconsin....
  14. Bad time for a slip. Feels like all the breaks are going the other way.
  15. Turnovers are the only reason this is close, and there are four different culprits to blame too....
  16. We must be dominating time of possession. That has to help as the game goes on.....
  17. That play call on 4th and 1 was wonderful....
  18. Isn’t that the second one of those he had this year?
  19. Yeah, I understand 4th and short and all, but I feel like the FG is the right call there.
  20. Didn't he build the contender in KC from basically stratch, though, and do the same with the turnaround so far in Cleveland?
  21. Wow. That’s an absolutely insane decision by the Browns.
  22. The Dolphins have lured 67-year old Chan Gailey out of retirement to be their offensive coordinator. I'm sure that'll bring youthful energy and innovation to their offense. Or something.
  23. This is not a new concept, though, as it is literally the entire concept that the novel/movie Moneyball is based on and started 20+ years ago.
