  1. Who started this 2-out rally? That's right... Wes Helms.
  2. "Never leave early." Wow... no kidding. Battle.
  3. Can we PLEASE stop the Bob Brenierd experiment now and put us all out of our misery?
  4. Jenkins is not Piazza. Piazza can't run. You need to get to extra innings before anything else. Howe took advantage when he had the chance. Ok, it'd be like Yost PR for Sexson in that situation last year? Fair enough comparison? Like I said, if Yost made that move, you'd be slamming him like there was no tomorrow.
  5. You mean the PR that allowed them to tie the game? Yep thats him. Right... because if Yost PR Durrington for Jenkins in the same situation, I'm certain that you'd be on these boards praising Yost's decision when the game went into extra innings..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  6. So this is what it looks like to be out managed by Art Howe... The same Art Howe that just took his best player out of the game by PRing with a pitcher? I don't think so.
  7. Way to go Brady!! Viz and Kolb will try go preserve the sweep... EDIT: Make that Burba and Kolb....
  8. I wonder if Peavey had the misfortune of the State of Georgia's Educational System.... So yet again, I make valid points and end up getting personally attacked..... how dare I question people's opinions? What do I think this message board is, a place for the free exchange of ideas? I guess I should stick to slamming Helms for striking out with runners in scoring position, even though he hasn't done it yet this series....
  9. well, he didn't strikeout, but still had a crappy at-bat.... He hit a ball that the RFer made a great sliding catch on... if that's your definition of crappy, ok.
  10. I'm sick of him striking out with runners in scoring position.... Because he's done it 0 times today? ??
  11. How many terrible swings before helms gets benched? He's had two hits in each of the last two games.... you don't bench him now just in case he actually is getting out of this slump.
  12. I'm not asking Yost to bring in his closer. But he should be able to do more with Vizcaino or Brooks. Or is that too earth shattering? I keep hearing that Kolb is unavailable.... thus making Vizcaino his closer. If I'm missing something, I appologize.
  13. Saving a pitcher for a hypothetical is like not pintch hitting for your catcher because your back up may get injured. You know what the current situation is. If you fail now, it won't matter what happens in three innings. Exactly how many managers in MLB would be following this idea? When was the last time you saw Smoltz, Rivera, Hoffman, Nen or Gagne pitching in the 5th inning? That's what I thought.... Once again, this seems to be a case of people criticizing Yost for not making a move that EVERY OTHER MAJOR LEAGUE MANAGER WOULDN'T HAVE MADE.
  14. Anyone want to explain to Yost that you may want your best reliever in a basesloaded situation? Gett the two outs and then move your long guy in. So Bennett? Or Ford? Vizcaino this early? I doubt it.... With Burba, Kolb, and Brooks unavailable, I trust matt Kinney as much as Bennett or Ford.
  15. They gotta push Brooks in for three. Since he's already pitched the past two days? How many consecutive days do you think he can go and still be effective?
  16. Make that 2 hits for Wes..... come on, break out of the slump!!
  17. I want to like ned so bad but then I look at the lineup card and see helms and councell in the lineup and Hall on the bench. Maybe it's because Councell is hitting like .400 in his career off Glavine. And Helms has a hit so far.....
  18. Brooks has thrown a lot of pitches. If we somehow manage to tie this up, I have no idea who'll be able to pitch. We NEED a fresh reliever to join us in NY tomorrow....
  19. As I said, some people will defend Yost no matter what. The thing is, the opposite is true as well- some people will nitpick every single move the guy makes regardless of the situation behind it.
  20. Assuming that is the case, the current management with this roster is absolutely clueless. Durrington has no place on this team with the current state of this pitching staff. Yeah, I don't get it either. My ONLY guess is that maybe Burba's situation didn't develop until after the trip started.... still, Indy is what, 100 miles from Cincy? Knowing now that Burba's hurt, I definitely retract my feelings about DLing Kolb as well http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. Well, it's Bennett's inning, he has to get out of it 'cause Keish probably doesn't have 1+ innings in him tonight. EDIT: Nevermind, good luck Brooks, there's noone else left.
  22. Now knowing that Burba wasn't good to go, not only does it make the Sheets decision last night make more sense, but it gives Ned a mulligan for the Wes decision. And tonight JaNelson and I agree completely- with the bullpen so goofed up, Durrington should be down and Adams should be up.
  23. For the record: Valentin was traded for Jason Conti, not waived.
