  1. Peavey, you're such a dumbass. Like I said, I sincerely appologize for contradicting your point and apparently angering you. I don't see how I deserved the above, however. If someone tells me where/what I did, I will certainly appologize for it. I enjoy my occasional arguments with David, as we both respect each others' opinions and conduct ourselves in a fact-filled debate, and we know not to take things personally and too seriously. I seem to have misread you, so I will refrain from questioning your opinions in the future.
  2. How is that dumb? You're sidelining you're best relief pitcher for an extra week... it makes zero baseball sense. If he's going to be out through the weekend, THEN you put him on the DL retroactive to last saturday, not anytime sooner. I'm sure glad that Sheets pitched that inning tonight, or we'd seriously be in trouble tomorrow regardless.... we've got Burba and Bennett for a little bit, so if the pen needed to eat another inning tonight, we'd have little or nothing. Yeah! That was funny alright! Certainly shows the depth of your thoughts... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Acutally, it was http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif You're right: How dare I point out a valid contradiction in your argument? Sorry that this debate has apparently gotten under your skin. If that shows the 'depth of my thoughts' than you must not be looking deep enough.
  3. Its even worse planning to pin your hopes on having Ben Sheets throw a complete, or near-complete game, against a team that takes a ton of pitches and walks a lot. Who, exactly, was asking Ben to throw a CG or near CG? We're talking about 1 inning tonight, and since we might be headed for extra innings tonight, that inning could be huge for the pen. Dan Kolb, if he can't pitch, should be on the DL. So if he only needs to miss 6-7 days as they expect, you'd put him on the DL for an EXTRA 8-9? That's just dumb. I hate to say "I told you so", but having a guy like Wayne Franklin in AAA wouldn't look so bad right now. So he could start a game and put us down 6 runs by the 4th inning? Yeah, that'd be useful. He has averaged only 98 pitches per start in his career, which is probably about where he should be. While six pitches doesn't sound like a lot, over 35 starts, that's 210 pitches, or two full games. Suddenly, its not so trivial a number. But you said he's going to be on the DL GUARANTEED this year.... how's he going to get 35 starts? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  4. We're in the first week of May. There is no need for it, especially with a pretty fresh bullpen. Still strongly disagree.... If sheets is out in the 5th as you would have had it, Ford goes 2 innings, Bennett goes 1, and Viz goes 1.... you're leaving just Burba and Keish to work tomorrow? Talk about poor planning... Peavey, letting your 25-year old ace - who has already had back trouble this year, by the way - throw more than 120 pitches TWICE this already year is abuse. That's not the point that I was responding to.... my post was in response to your original post before you subsequently edited it and completely changed the point you had made. Still, he's averaged 104 pitches this year.... still wondering how many pitches you think it's appropriate for him to be averaging?
  5. Ben has averaged 104 pitches per start. Im sorry, but that's abuse. Actually its not. What, exactly, is the pitch count that you seem to believe that Sheets should be on?
  6. Even after this start, he'll have about an average of a 100 pitches per start or so... An average of just over 98, actually, with only 4 of 7 starts even going REACHING 100 pitches. But yeah, he's being abused [/sarcasm]
  7. Just foolish planning and coaching, especially since the only bullpen guys to have seen action since Sunday's game are Kinney and Vizcaino. You do realize that our bullpen consists of 4 guys right now? Strongly disagree with you.... he has an extra day of rest to work with, so I have no problem with letting him throw the extra 15 or so pitches.
  8. He hits for himself... that answers that.
  9. Overbay is good. This kid is going to break the doubles record... guaranteed.
  10. Holy moly.... that was destroyed to the 2nd deck.
  11. I agree completely.... 2 years ago, I'd think we were done if we got down by 2-3 runs by like the 5th inning. This year, I'm confident in our ability to comeback at any time in any game.
  12. Yup- Spivey has a strained hammy.... just keeping him out for precautionary measures.
  13. Wow.... talk about a link report gone horribly wrong..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  14. Isn't Capuano supposed to be making a rehab start very soon? Could he be the TBA pitcher in the double-header?
  15. Looks like a muscle pull to me, so lets hope.
  16. I had to open my big mouth http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  17. 1 run might be all we need, folks. Big Ben is looking dominant yet again.
  18. Anyone else notice that stuff being posted now is being put earlier in threads than posts from this afternoon? EZboard is really, really screwed up right now
  19. To answer my own question: the previous high was 89, on draft day. I've honesty got no clue why we'd have 124 tonight.
  20. 122 visitors in the last 15 minutes? 79 members, 42 guests, 1 anonymous..... I believe that almost doubles the previous record, IIRC. Lots of people tuning in for the game? EDIT: 123
  21. Other ezboards that I've been on since the outage are fine and have the right dates/times. I'm assuming its like daylight savings time where it has to be manually fixed by one of the moderators- probably needs to be reset to CDT instead of Grenwich mean time, or something of that nature. Please fix this, because it's really annoying http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Yeah that was disappointing Jeff, but this is one awesome comback going down 9-1 then tied at 9 going to the ninth. This is where Ned Yost's rah rah attitude pays off. At least this team never gives up. Holy crap... there it was http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
