  1. Perhaps. But again, that's how you comically end up with the Joe Flaccos and Tony Romos of the QB world as the highest paid QBs in the league for a time.
  2. I guess the heart of my question is, what does 'trust' consist of in his eyes? How does a lack of whatever that is actually impact him as he plays QB for the Packers? I think the issue is that 'trust' in Rodgers' eyes likely means 'they're not making the personnel moves I want them to make,' or, perhaps more likely, I want a big contract extension. None of those things have anything to do with 'trust,' IMO. That's just an employee complaining.
  3. Certainly would be a test of what Rodgers' actual priorities are....
  4. He'd have to do a restructure immediately for it to be feasible. He'd have a $15m cap number for 2021, and the Packers aren't even in the ballpark of having the space for that.
  5. Couldn't disagree more. I've long envied the Packers' ability to move on and make the hard choices that the fans hate. How many guys left where there was a huge outcry, only for us to find out that the FO had correctly evaluated that they were toast? Jennings, Nelson, Sitton, etc etc etc. It's the fans (and likely the players in some ways to, hence Rodgers' comments about 'people') that want the team to run like their Madden Franchise Mode. When you manage that way, you give out bad contracts that you regret. Somewhat like giving Yelich a huge fanboy-like extension that seems like a horrible idea less than two years later...
  6. What 'trust' has been broken? Why doesn't he trust them? Why does he need to 'trust' them?
  7. I think all of your points are spot-on. I do think that for his astounding unwillingness just to say what's going on or what his issues are, he offered enough details to read between the lines. Basically, he saw the Love pick as incentive to up his game, he did so, and he thought that would lead the Packers to commit to him long-term. But they didn't, and he's ticked. His comments about 'people' really mean 'me'. And I do hope he realizes that most people can see through this veil of 'I'm not airing my dirty laundry in public' schtick and understand that he's just having his minions do it behind the scenes so that it does leak out without being directly attributable to his camp.
  8. It’s about the people!! Benjamin Franklin, Andrew Jackson, Alexander Hamilton, etc......
  9. Andy Haines should be a little troubled if he comes up and mashes immediately. Kind of a lose-lose for Haines, really. It's either 'they were able to fix his swing in AAA, but Haines couldn't' if he hits, and if he doesn't, it's 'he was fine before he came back up and Haines screwed it up again'...
  10. He certainly did exactly what you would have hoped for at Nashville- found success and presumably got some confidence back. As JB noted, it doesn't guarantee any sort of MLB success, but he did what you hoped he would in AAA.
  11. I think this definition of the efficacy reporting is incorrect. Most of the vaccines have been reporting efficacy numbers, which are widely noted, but also separately reporting a 'prevention of hospitalization and death' number. For example, J&J's vaccine data reports 66.6% efficacy, defined as "prevention of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness." Separately, it reported 100% prevention of hospitalization and deaths.
  12. I'm certain that was a key factor in moving him, much like with Phelps last year.
  13. There has been no report. It’s just a “change of scenery” type move I threw out there. Hiura was a top 20 guy too and flew through the minors. He probably would have had been top 10 at some point if they took their time with him more. They both have struggled mightily. I guess my question is more to the point of whether the Angels actually think Adell needs a change of scenery or not. Keston has 600 MLB ABs, Adell has 125.
  14. Have the Angels soured on Adell? He's the #6 prospect in baseball. I know he looked rough in his initial MLB time, but even though I still hold optimism for Keston's future, I'd trade him for Adell in a heartbeat.
  15. This guy with a 5+ career ERA is good? https://www.mlb.com/player/drew-rasmussen-656876 Yes. The guy has 32 career innings, come on. He has 32 career innings. Calling him good OR bad deserves a ‘come on.’
  16. Streeterville, actually. Though now that the weekend crowd has flocked in, it’s more like 40/60 outdoors.
  17. Rasmussen’s ceiling is perhaps that of Hader, but that HAS to be viewed as unlikely at best. As noted, a truly elite reliever like Hader is capable of a 2-3 WAR season, but even Hader hasn’t been able to do that consistently. By contrast, Adames has provided nearly two WAR in a season just defensively. If he goes from just average with his bat to even just above average, his productivity blows what most relievers can expect to do in a season out of the water.
  18. Mask compliance is astoundingly geographical. I’m in Chicago this weekend, and the city lifted its mandate last Tuesday. 80% of people on the street just walking and 99% of people inside are still wearing masks.
  19. The Brewers have a good track record of getting scrap-heap pen arms, getting good innings out of them, and flipping them when their values are high. I’m confident they’ll do something similar here.
  20. Decent defender is selling Adames far short, but I think the rest of your take is spot on. I didn't have a chance to look and I thought there might have been some questions coming up if he could stay at short so I went for the middle ground. Although even if he was below average, it's not like Urias isn't below average either. Fair enough. I think the key takeaway is that they undoubtedly upgraded SS today both offensively and defensively from Urias and the miscellaneous depth IFs.
  21. Decent defender is selling Adames far short, but I think the rest of your take is spot on.
  22. Yeah, lost in all of this is that in my opinion, Richards and revert to the norm JP are likely to wash for the rest of the year, essentially making the trade Rasmussen for Adames.
  23. And my oh my what a HUGE bat they acquired too. They got better at a position they’ve literally had trouble with for a decade. There’s more work to do, but this will help.
  24. It’s really helpful if positional offensive expectations are part of your evaluation.
