  1. Interesting that this surfaces shortly after Bo Ryan emerged from his post-retirement disappearance from the spotlight and returned to attend a practice this week.
  2. This is likely accurate. They probably didn't expect the .814 OPS from last year to duplicate in his age 31 season, but cratering to a .511 OPS wasn't in the predictions as well. If he was just the ~.720 OPS player he was prior to COVID, he'd have immense value to this team offensively as well.
  3. Well said. I for one don't want to go back to the Ken Macha era Brewers where they were amongst the top teams in the league in scoring runs but trotted out Braden Looper, Dave Bush, Jeff Suppan etc. to get knocked around a couple of times a week. Right. It's generally easier &much cheaper to acquire offensive help mid-season (and bullpen too) than it is to acquire starting pitching. If you're going to be weak on the offensive side of the ball, there should be cost-effective upgrades available.
  4. Well, I guess that would depend on your definition of 'forever'. They've obviously been through this before when they sent him down last time, then called him back up after raking to have him struggle again. I'd expect them to keep him in AAA longer- until they're comfortable with his K rate and mechanics, then call him up again.
  5. I’m a little perplexed at the apparent belief here that what Murphy did was annoying but that nothing Aaron has done is….. That’s not what I was saying at all. If you are referring I am saying that…no, I am not. Then I do apologize. I read it as 'Murphy has been so annoying, I hope Rodgers sticks it to him', which I interpreted as ignoring how annoying Rodgers' behavior has been. Again, I apologize if my interpretation was incorrect. Again, though, I'd question whether 'complicated fella' rises to a level of "annoying"....
  6. It is interesting the different standards that the fans hold guys to- Thompson couldn't draft, etc. in his last years here, but we ignore Ron Wolf's draft struggles (and similar futility following his SB win, including a disaster of a coaching hire in Rhodes and picking Sherman as his GM successor). Mark Murphy is considered unprofessional despite a very successful new GM/coaching hire (thus far) and a SB win, but Bob Harlan's 11 'years of futility' after the XXI win aren't scrutinized and a plaza is named after him at Lambeau.
  7. So if you didn't think what he said was unprofessional, how has he otherwise missed the bar of professionalism expected of a team president? Just trying to understand the reasoning for those that are viewing him so negatively right now....
  8. And you feel that "complicated fella" crossed the boundary between professional and unprofessional?
  9. I’m a little perplexed at the apparent belief here that what Murphy did was annoying but that nothing Aaron has done is….. The bar for professionalism is higher for a Team President than it is for any player, including a franchise QB (especially considering the former has a law degree and has been a Big Ten AD). How about a franchise QB who is supposedly angling to be the host of Jeopardy, the gold standard or TV professionalism and integrity? And yet, he’s acting like a high schooler who was jilted at the prom.
  10. Also worth noting the fire that trade seems to have lit under Urias as well. They’ve got a major problem at both corner IF spots, but they are better overall than they were a month ago.
  11. I’m a little perplexed at the apparent belief here that what Murphy did was annoying but that nothing Aaron has done is…..
  12. Crazy. Maybe that 'can't see the ball at the Trop' was more legit than I thought....
  13. Same, and I share the frustration. I just think it's easy to over-react to the lows while forgetting the results when things are working as planned, as they did over the two weeks prior to this one.
  14. Not an answer. "There must have been in my opinion as a fan" doesn't mean there was. And who are the Brewers trading away to acquire said player? And were you calling for Cron back in February, or is that with the benefit of hindsight? I'd suspect you wouldn't have been thrilled with them signing a guy that hit .190 last year at the time. Sorry, the 'must have been able to do SOMETHING' without knowing what 'something' was doesn't seem fair on my end. Anyway, enough said on that on my end, I've more than made my viewpoint known.
  15. I was 99% sure a foul was going to be called on that shot. Other than the absurd call at the .3 mark, the refs did a fairly good job of swallowing the whistles in OT, save for the obvious ones. Well, the call on Tucker to foul him out was pretty bad.
  16. So other than the guys that you don't count, Stearns batted .500 on his offseason signings, then? Kolten Wong was not nearly enough of an upgrade for what was a terrible offense last season. As previously asked, who would you have brought in? Point being, you only posted once here between May 22nd and the current losing streak. You're here complaining about the offense when it's not working, and nowhere to be found when they're winning, which is STILL the majority of the time thus far, which seems unfair.

  18. Absolutely. But in this context, I assume the poster's point was 'this product has been tough for the fanbase to watch, yet they continue to support them'. If that wasn't the case, I stand corrected. It was me and I think it has been tough to watch. On average, they're delivering 4.2 singles and 2.6 XBH per game, and it takes more than 3 hours to see that small amount of offensive production. Add in nearly 10 strikeouts per game, and it's a tough watch. The pitching staff has been great, but games are dull and lifeless. Look at the crowd shots every game and there are people looking at their phones, or blankly staring off. And that's different than most crowds any other season? I guess I'm not a fan of saying that you don't just need to win, you need to win pretty. That seems a pretty lofty bar to set as a fan, just IMO of course.
  19. I've been thinking about that fact as well- crazy.
  20. Word. Bucks had a bench, Nets didn't tonight, and it mattered in OT.
  21. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Woot. What a game.
  23. Goooood lord. There's an opening here a mile wide, and we look like we've never played basketball...
  24. And SOMEHOW, only a 2 point game still.
  25. Flat as flat can be. Clearly an emotional collapse after blowing the lead in regulation....
