  1. I don't mind giving McClung a start here. I'm not expecting him to do well, but it'll serve as a sort of kick in the butt to Villanueva. Maybe we'll catch a break and Seth will finally figure it out in the rotation...but I highly doubt it.
  2. You can catch the end of the game live on mlb.com. Edit - Wow, he did it. What a great story he is.
  3. That's pretty much right on. Our teams problems are much bigger than Yost. Yost does make stupid mistakes like DH-ing Gwynn yesterday, but moves like that aren't why were in last place. We're in last place because our hitters don't get on-base, our pitchers walk a lot of people, and our defense stinks. Bashing Yost has become the cool thing to do because people have convinced themselves or been tricked into thinking that firing him will be a simple fix to the teams problems. It won't be.
  4. I think it's quite the opposite. This board is high on the list of folks who know that the internet is mostly garbage and realize that BF.net is a rare forum for intelligent discussion.
  5. I'd be a fan of swapping Hart and Weeks in the batting order.
  6. If only Chris Farley were still alive. Matt Foley and a little motivation is all this team needs to turn the corner.
  7. Hopefully you enjoy watching golf or nascar. It'll be a long summer otherwise.
  8. Strikes out the side. I wonder how silly we looked swinging at those knuckleballs.
  9. I get the feeling that we'll be seeing multiple innings of Zach Jackson today.
  10. Taking Sheets out at the first sign of trouble or brining in a cold reliever would be stupid.
  11. Gary freaking Bennett. Hopefully Sheets is alright, falling apart with under 90 pitches is uncharacteristic of him.
  12. They're two days late, but this is a great birthday present from the Brewers. Awesome.
  13. At first I was somewhat disappointed that I missed the opportunity to lay it on in the previous thread but now I'm glad I didn't. I agree with pretty much everything here. Gagne is going to be given every chance to be this team's closer. The better he does the better off the team is. And booing serves absolutely no purpose. Players don't need booing fans to help them realize they need to do better, and I doubt that managers factor in the magnitude of the booing while they're making decisions.
  14. Not a huge Jimmy Fallon fan. He was funny on SNL but I'm not sure it was the kind of funny that would do well in a talk show. I'm just glad they didn't move Carson Daily up a spot. Conan is alright. I usually find myself skipping between him and Kimmel when I'm up that late. Conan's old shows were a lot funnier than his recent stuff, but I loved his stuff during the writers strike.
  15. I used to love that show. I watched an episode recently and realized that the majority of the jokes in the show were way over my head when I was in grade school.
  16. Dave Bush is due for one of those outings where he pitches a solid 8 innings just to tease us. For some odd reason I like our chances tonight.
  17. La Russa gave him a nudge? La Russa stuck with Isringhausen just like Yost stuck with Gagne, and Isringhausen didn't get demoted until he bonked La Russa on head. He's hit into quite a few in the past. A good month and half doesn't negate that. Well the Cardinals weren't ready for it. Miles wasn't in that far. Unfortunately Kendall wasn't ready for it either. If it wouldn't have been botched by Kendall/Sveum it probably would have worked.
  18. Because I hope they win rather that hoping they lose with the questionable assumption that it'll make them better in the long run? Sure.
  19. The Yost hatred has hit a new low when so called fans admit hoping for Brewers losses. Unbelievable.
  20. Kendall is an extreme groundball hitter and Miles wasn't playing that far in. A bunt down the third base line scores a run. (edit: nested quote --1992)
