    Umm, the Twins are 44 and 37. They're a good team, not one that the crew should be expected to roll over.

    Minor league numbers aren't meaningless but I don't think they should be used to show whether a trade was good or bad for the teams involved.

    We should wait because minor league numbers mean nothing for the Brewers or Padres. We can't really evaluate the trade until we see how Inman, Garrison, Frederickson, and Dykstra do in the majors if they even reach the majors. And it's interesting that you would want to bring Linebrink into the conversation because he's been lights out this season.

    It would sure be nice to bring Benny back, but we're still a small market team. Ben could net over 100 million on the market and the crew simply can't afford it. Lets just enjoy these last few months with him and hope the picks turn into something good.

    Matt Cain is a guy who I think could be acquired with a LaPorta package. He's young, he's good, and he'd be a lot easier to get than Lincecum.

    I wouldn't consider trading Fielder for Sabathia. If we trade Fielder we should get a top of the rotation starter for more than a couple months. I'd do a package of prospects with either Gamel or LaPorta as the centerpiece only if we're in the race.

    The Rays were my favorite AL team before they swept the Cubs. This is just icing on the cake.

    McClung has really been a nice story. He seemed genuinely thrilled to make the team, and he's been much better than anyone expected. Most of the credit goes to Seth, but some has to go to Yost/Melvin for giving him a chance. Seth was by no means a lock to make the team, and I think most people were scratching their heads when they heard McClung was moving to the rotation, but it has worked out well so far.

    If this game is Exhibit A in your case against Yost, your case is pretty weak.

    I had the misfortune of seeing Rent once. Personally, I think you'd be better off taking a nap in the car. It would probably be more enjoyable.

    I think if Justice had seen the Brewers clubhouse after they swept the Astros in Milwaukee, he would have gotten a completely different view of the team. Players are going to be a little testy after a loss. It doesn't mean their chemistry is bad, it means they're human.

    If it was sarcasm it would be in blue. Villy got worn out in the pen last year despite the fact that he was only used on back to back days four times. Simply put, Villanueva cannot be used as often as a typical reliever. Yost taking it easy on Villy is wise if he wants him to be effective later in the season.

    Maybe Yost has learned from his mistakes and isn't going to use Villanueva frequently.

    Isn't this whole discussion of Francona speculation? I doubt any of us watched the Red Sox or Phillies enough to say with certainty that he's a great interviewer. Even Ned has some good interviews at times. And once again, why does this even matter? So you agree that there's no correlation between being good in interviews and handling pressure?

    Hardly. Prince, for example is very rough in interviews but seems to handle pressure well. I don't see the correlation.

    I'd bet in his Philly days Francona had some pretty hairy interviews. Either way, why do a manager's relations with the media even matter?
