  1. And it adversely affected the ratio of pixies to leprechauns. Calling the hit and run was a bad move, but it didn't make much difference except for the mythical momentum factor.
  2. Who would have thought the IGT would get so ugly when we're 13 games over .500 in July. Anyone proclaiming that the season is over should give their remaining tickets to us suckers who think those games will actually be played.
  3. The Cubs are a good team. It sucks losing to them, but even if they manage to sweep us we'll be in pretty good shape.
  4. This is one of my problems with Yost. I like how he sticks up for his players, but there's a point where it needs to stop. Rickie Weeks has reached that point. When a guy is struggling offensively and defensive and has shown no improvement in a couple of years its time to cut the cord.
  5. Of course I wouldn't. But I'm sure some people here think they would.
  6. Yost sacrificed Soup, and we start the Cubs series with a somewhat fresh bullpen. Not as crazy as some are making it out to be and certainly not a Yosting.
  7. You really think Yost should be looking at 24 ab samples?
  8. Hopefully Turnbow can figure things out and pitch for the Brewers again, but at this point it looks pretty doubtful.
  9. I can't credit Yost for the teams performance these past couple months because I didn't blame him for their early struggles, but I'm glad to see there's less heat on Yost these days.
  10. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=txgibbonsbrewers&prov=st&type=lgns Melvin has no qualms signing guys involved with roids/HGH. Edit: Clarified title. - Toby
  11. So your support is basically your personal random number generator. The ouija bit is entertaining, but clearly Ned is basing this decision off of a couple years of stats showing Dave Bush is a better pitcher at home than on the road. As Russ pointed out, Dave Bush has pitched differently on the road. Such as?
  12. So how many wins do you think it'll cost us? How will Bush and McClung be harmed? Why should we care about what Cubs and Cardinals fans think?
  13. Thanks for all the replies. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I called to order tickets yesterday. I must have gotten a good ticket rep because I received the discount for 15 tickets with no questions asked. I wonder how many non-students take advantage of this deal considering you don't necessarily need a college ID.
  14. Eddie Guardado from Texas for Chris Errecart and Donovan Hand.
  15. This just seems like a move to give Rickie a kick in the butt more than anything. If the Giants will still be paying Durham, its fine because we aren't giving up much, but otherwise, I don't really care for it.
  16. Who would your rather have? Mota? Gagne? When your starter only goes five innings, you're going to need to use some of your less effective relievers.
  17. How exactly does the college night promo work? Does everyone using the discounted tickets need to be in college or could I buy tickets for myself and others who are not in college? Also, if you order them over the phone how do they verify that you're actually in college?
  18. Make that two happy users of Vista. To echo what Team Canada said, I'd take a look at the Asus Eee laptops. Some of the models come with XP installed if you don't want to switch to Linux. Here's one at Tiger Direct. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3981691&CatId=17
  19. So can any of the AL position players pitch?
  20. Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
  21. Intentionally walk Bako to get a PH for Volquez?
  22. I think it might be a bit of overuse. He's 10th in the league for innings pitched, 5th for number of pitches, and 3rd for appearances as a reliever.
  23. I think its safe to say that Rich Harden's arm is feeling just fine.
  24. Some teams we match up well with are the Royals, Rays, and Giants. All three are looking for some bats and have young pitching to offer. Enter J.J. Hardy and Prince Fielder. All three teams would probably be interested in Fielder, and KC and SF would probably be interested in Hardy's services (David Ecstein's younger brother Mike Aviles isn't going to keep hitting in KC and Moustakas is years away. J.J. would be an upgrade over whatever AAAA player or childhood friend of John McCain is playing shortstop for SF). Sending Hardy and Angel Salome to sunny California for Matt Cain and Fielder to KC for Greinke would help Brewers fans cope with the loss of Sabathia and probably Sheets as well (although it would anger multitudes of teenage girls across the state). To add more madness to the off season we send Rickie Weeks and Dave Bush to the Orioles for Brian Roberts and Chad Bradford. Resigning Sheets would be a dream I'd be having in my dream but lets see what we'd look like with him. Also in my super dream Soup is traded. Probably for an insignificant prospect, but he's off the books. Rotation Sheets Greinke Cain Gallardo Parra Lineup 2B Roberts CF Cameron LF Braun 1B Gamel RF Hart 3B Hall/Brayan (How could 3TO not be in my dream?) C Kendall SS Escobar P Bullpen CL - Torres RHP - Bradford RHP - McClung RHP - Riske RHP - Villanueva LHP - Stetter LHP - Shouse Note that this dream is pretty far out there and I'd only expect one of these moves to actually happen.
  25. I hope so. I've been typing "1" in for the past ten minutes.
