I don't think Harang will be going 10 innings today.

At least the Brewers haven't infected Scott Linebrink with their plague of suckiness yet.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals. They're playing good right now, but even with injuries the Cubs are the better team. There's no way the Cardinals keep this up.

Just a stupid move on both sides. Prince should have shut his mouth and walked to the dugout. The pitch wasn't that bad anyway. The ump didn't need to say anything to Prince, and a 3 game suspension is insanity.

Two more home runs for Ankiel today. You've gotta feel good for the guy, but I'd hate it if he propelled the Cardinals into the playoff race.

That's why they would only gain a half game if the Cubs lose. I wasn't responding to any other post. The Brewers not playing tomorrow is the silver lining. I won't have to hear about another disappointing loss.

    The Brewers don't play tomorrow.

Johnny can't help that the pitchers aren't hitting their spots. They've been bad with Miller lately as well.

    http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i283/Giffted/Manure.jpg Our pitching stinks!!!

I get the feeling that Vargas will go 6 even if he gives up two touchdowns. Our pen is burnt out and our offense already has a large hole to dig out of.

Be sure of your target and what is beyond. I learned that in hunter's safety. Maybe they don't teach that at the police academy in Oklahoma.

Matt wise has really been a mess lately. I know he's normally quite slow, but he had nothing behind his pitches today. His change up is useless when its around the same speed as his fastball.

And Shouse strands another inherited runner...I think the rest of the staff should pitch in and buy him something nice.
  14. giffted1
Well Braun is putting together a nice game. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the rest of our offense.

I've really been impressed with Shouse. He's proving to be more than just a lefty specialist this season.

I've been getting that little white box to click on as well. I'm getting used to it, but its still somewhat annoying. I though the problem might have just been with my browser/computer, but now that someone else is having that problem hopefully it can be fixed.

The Cubs are falling back to earth.

Dempster looks like another Cub whose been overachieving all year. Regression to the mean...I love it.

Yeah, Ned has really been slumping at the plate lately. I don't really see how Neds holding them back unless he's telling the pitchers to leave stuff over the plate and cursing his players with voodoo dolls when they're batting with the bases loaded.

I'll say yes. The Cubs are starting to cool off a little bit. Hart, Hardy, and Estrada have shown signs of life at the plate recently. Linebrink will be back soon to help our struggling pen. When September rolls around Sheets should be back, Jenkins will be in the middle of his annual hot streak, and hopefully Rickie will be back on track offensively. I think this dugout altercation will propel us into another hot streak much like the no-hitter did.

Its annoying that both the vent thread and IGTs are frequently filled with predictions of the Brewers doom. It adds nothing to the discussion of the game, and it isn't really venting either. Like Ennder said, it seems that some people only post here to let us know that the Brewers suck after every loss. I know all people are going to react differently, but those reactions don't need to be repeated constantly.

With that logic we lost the game yesterday. We were down late in the game yesterday and had to face their bullpen. That seemed to end well for us.
  23. giffted1
Nice to have the IGT back. Anything close to the last outing Vargas had would be great. Go Brewers and Go Phillies!!!

Hopefully this is the start of a hot streak for the Brewers. Jenkins had the big hit, but much of the credit has to go the bullpen. They got out of some major jams. I'm not a big Spurling fan, but I've got to give him some props (along with Yost). I was very confused when he came in for Shouse, but that move definitely worked. I think he's earned a roster spot for the rest of the year.
