  1. From Rotoworld The Phillies have acquired Julio Mateo from the Mariners, ESPN's Jayson Stark reports.
  2. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i283/Giffted/ban.jpg
  3. We'd need to add more, but you'd think they'd be interested in Gwynn. Right now they're trotting Nook Logan and Ryan Langerhans out in CF.
  4. I've tried to stay optimistic, but someone in that damn bullpen needs to step up. I don't trust any of them right now.
  5. Jorge has had some bad outings recently, so he was due for a good one or two. He's probably the most inconsistent pitcher in the league.
  6. Could we make this the Official Troll Forecast Thread?
  7. 1. Barry Bonds 2. Gary Sheffield 3. Jack Wilson 4. Derek Jeter 5. Carlos Zambrano
  8. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i283/Giffted/ben719.jpg
  9. I'm not sure if its been mentioned but Joe Thatcher stuck out the first batter in a scoreless inning for his major league debut.
  10. Could it be because we're still in first place and have 60 games left to play? Wasn't the season already over when we got no-hit in Detroit anyway?
  11. Hattenburg didn't start on Monday.
  12. Blah, why can't we catch a break on the road. Damn.
  13. I'd pitch Parra and call someone up to pitch on Saturday.
  14. Hey, we threw out a base stealer.
  15. Nice job Corey!!! Hopefully Bow and Coco can hold the lead now.
  16. Yost needs to demand more out of his players. Our best players need to be playing EVERY DAY. They're young, they should be able to play everyday and run marathons on off days. Fatigue and soreness are unacceptable.
  17. Thats what I was thinking. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i283/Giffted/war.jpg (Brewers In Game Thread)
  18. Do you think that our offense could be struggling because our guys are tired? Not everyone is like Cal Ripken.
  19. Now I remember why I can't stand Bonds. Costas probably knows more about baseball than Barry, and I hope he fires back.
  20. Given his career numbers, even with a down year its hard to believe no one will want him this offseason. I could add some more examples, but AAA success doesn't equal major league success. Some were acting like we traded a good bullpen arm when he hasn't even pitched to major league hitters yet.
  21. Great to see that Brady was able to go to a contender.
  22. After reading some of the comments I'm starting to like this trade. We've been very lucky in the bullpen injury wise, and it's inevitable someone is going to go down. With the addition of Linebrink we can lose a big arm and still have a solid pen. Inman, Garrison, and Thatcher is a big price to pay for a rental reliever, but the Padres obviously liked him, and we're going to get some nice draft picks when he walks. Inman is a good prospect, but he's just a prospect. He's not the same prospect that Gallardo was who was dominating AA at this time last year. The scouts didn't think he could be more than a bottom of the rotation starter, and the Brewers figured he was expendable. Its a tough loss to swallow, but not a huge loss. Thatcher has been excellent in AAA, but I think we all know that it doesn't guarantee major league success (see Balfour, Grant). Garrison looks good, not great in A ball. He still has a long ways to go before he makes it to pitchers heaven.
  23. Just because we have two prospects that are having success in the majors doesn't change the fact that most prospects aren't going to have success in the majors. Inman could very well take the Hendrickson and Eveland path.
  24. Seems like a steep price for a few months of one relief pitcher.
