We had our best available team on the field. Any way you arrange them we still have no hits.

I can't stand how everyone complains about Yost. We've been in a funk for the past month. Yost is shaking things up trying to find something that works, and people complain. If he kept the same lineup during that time people would complain. Estrada was bad in the fifth spot - people complain. Hart moved to the fifth spot - people complained because he wasn't leading off. Counsell leads off, we get 22 hits - people are happy. Counsell leads off, we get no hit - people complain. Graffy has been hitting the ball well lately - people ignore this and complain when he's batting second. Please people just admit that you'll criticize Yost no matter what happens.

How would firing Yost help this team? Probably just as much as firing Wynegar did. Seriously, for once blame the players. They're the one's that are getting paid to hit.

Well, Bill Hall had a nice game. Hats off to Verlander.

We just can't catch a break. We could probably hit a homerun ball only to have it knocked down by a seagull.
  6. giffted1
Come on Yost, with a different lineup we would have knocked Verlander out in the third.

Luckily for us, Soup has only made one bad pitch so far. Unfortunately, Verlander hasn't made any.

I don't know. I think this game goes in the Yost supporters' arsenal. Great lineup tonight. A questionable move to put Spurling in over Villanueva early which paid off. Vargas closing it out worked well.

    Game Over!!!

    Vargas, please don't stink.
  11. giffted1
I'd hope they just let Villanueva finish it up.

    Geoff!!!

What is it with this ballpark? Coco is blowing saves, Counsell homers, Braun has a web gem, and Graffanino is mashing. I still like our chances with Villy pitching the next few innings, though.

Good grief, Estrada gets a hit with runners on. Things might be turning around for the crew.

Seriously, what do you think he's going to say? "Yeah, we suck. These guys are horrible. I wish the Cubs the best of luck in the playoffs. We're just going to hang it up for the year." Any coach who would do the opposite and say "we're dead, the seasons over" deserves to be fired.

Nice to see the good Turnbow tonight. A few more runs would be nice as well.

Let the roller coaster ride begin...

It's not really as atrocious as some of you are making it out to be. Weeks is on the DL. Hall and Estrada have been doing nothing lately. Hardy has been slumping in June and probably needs a rest. It's not an ideal lineup, but it's not like the guys Yost put on the bench are killing the ball.

I also think Estrada needs to be moved down in the order. He's good for a catcher, but not for the fifth spot in the lineup. He's done nothing with RISP this year. I'd much rather see Jenkins there.

Paris may be a spoiled moron, but she is very good looking. It's somewhat disappointing to see that this has become another example of the incompetence of the justice system, though. Any normal criminal who is suicidal gets put in a straight jacket...Paris gets sent home. She may be back in prison now, but I wouldn't doubt that she gets to go home on the weekends or something stupid like that.

    Turnbow you clown.
  23. giffted1
I had my doubts about Braun batting third in the lineup, but he's definitely handling it well so far.
  24. giffted1
    1. Hart 2. Weeks 3. Hardy 4. Fielder 5. Braun 6. Jenkins 7. Hall 8. Estrada 9. Capuano Gwynn, Mench, and Gross get some starts from Hall and Jenkins.

How I love you Coco...Game Over!!!!
