  1. The ivy has been removed and the batters' eye in CF will be black for 2010, including installation of black mesh below the scoreboard. - Per Tyler Barnes. Now we just have to do a sun god dance to convince it to not glare against the glass and Braun will be happy.
  2. This is good. The weathers trade was a head scratcher, I didn't see much future for the players traded, but a waste of money. My favorite would be the last series in St Louis. His son (Brian) was off of school that weekend and spent the weekend on the field with his dad. Was cool, they did drills etc. Had nothing to do with his play on the field, but more that he's a regular joe with a family.
  3. I'd be perfectly fine with Hart leaving. He's getting costly and doesn't have nearly the value, dump him for salary.
  4. Seeing my first triple play live. Untucking on Busch field.
  5. No. There's a bar on Loge (Where the Big Blast store was) and two on Terrace at the very end of both of both sides.
  6. Well Miller Park is going smoke free next season. So perhaps the upgrades are where the smoking lounges were. That seems to make the most sense now that I've thought bout it a bit.
  7. Picasa has that rad identify and train the software to recognize and tag people. It's pretty accurate once you train it a bit.
  8. Hopefully sound and scoreboard. New HD TVs in the concourse?
  9. They'll make an offer, I'm sure it'll be pretty serious. Pujols loves him, and it makes them nasty.
  10. It's really understandable that Seth is frustrated. He showed some nasty stuff last year and did regress this year. I'd like Seth back, but since he's in arbitration I doubt he'd do it for as much as he made this year, honestly he should make less. He said at Busch on Saturday that he feels that Macha hates him and doesn't play him for that reason. So I understand his frustrations.... when management doesn't give you a chance to prove yourself (and I'm basing this after post DL) and it's your living, you'll be bitter.
  11. Yes he did. It wasn't directed at us, but more about how Cardinals are traditional and how La Russa manages the right way. (And is pro-beaning). The Card fans on the tour seemed to be very uncomfortable, as it awas a big awkward. Basically we were talking about how we all have the mutual hate for Cubs, but then he went on about how the Cards (especially La Russa) hates us due to the disrespect. But let me state again, that the tour (beyond those few minutes) was awesome. The the guide (even though he got a bit preachy) was very friendly, answered all my questions, and was a nice guy. Just was weird that it came up. They did have a bunch of 82 WS stuff, made me sad.
  12. The tour guide. He was really awesome and had great insights until about 5 minutes when he got very preachy. $10 bucks. I'd highly recommend the tour.
  13. Liz and I took the Busch tour on Friday. Tour was GREAT until we got into the Champions Club, that is where we proceeded to get lectured about how disrespectful both the untucking is, and when Prince got mad when a reporter called him Cecil. We had to defend ourselves explaining the reason for the untucking and the fact that his dad and Prince do not get along etc. Fans were generally very very nice, but they decided to lecture us about the traditions and how to play baseball the "right way". That got old really fast... I'd say theres a sense of smug entitlement because they have been around forever.
  14. Since the Suppan thread is locked I'll put it here. Per Adam McCalvy Suppan could start Sun. in STL. Needs 1 more for 11th straight season of 30 GS. Only Livan Hernandez (12) has longer active streak
  15. But on the inverse, when your PC breaks you probably don't have a tested/regimented backup solution.
  16. WAR, RAR, TRA+, ERA+ all point to bad news bears.
  17. I don't buy it. He can always go back to the standard "Loop will be evaluated in the off season like the rest of us" line he's been saying all season. Say that, and we won't be having this conversation. Say you are going to extend a sub average, sub replacement player is asking for us anonymous nerds on the internet to rag on you.
  18. We touched that very article over at FDM.com
  19. Anyone have the full sized bobblehead days before 2006? Here's your attendance and for 2006 - 2009 seasons. Dougs fared the worst (and Weeks was also against the Packers), is based on capacity. 8/24/08 | Hardy | +3,263 5/13/06 | Turnbow | +3,250 5/03/09 | Braun | +2,827 6/01/08 | Braun | +2,713 5/31/09 | Hoffman | +2,694 9/07/08 | Hart | +2,668 6/24/07 | Hall | +2,164 4/06/08 | Fielder | +2,114 9/02/06 | Yount | +2,105 8/05/06 | Capuano | +1,816 6/22/08 | Polish | +1,617 7/26/09 | Brat | +1,571 6/18/06 | Cooper | +1,494 6/28/09 | Kendall | +1,491 6/03/07 | Fielder | +1,274 7/15/07 | Chorizo | +854 9/30/07 | Weeks | +515 (P) 7/06/08 | Barrel Man | +263 8/30/09 | Suppan | -743 6/03/06 | Miller | -1,508 7/04/06 | Hotdog | -2,620 9/20/09 | Melvin | - 11,876 (P)
  20. Well FDM.com is up and starting to get some content (Even though stat research needs to get going). But if you haven't ranted enough about DM, you can win his bobble by doing it now.
  21. Don't let Corey Patterson get another major league at bat as a Brewers.
  22. No he is not the answer. But we are way over paying for at best replacement level performance. We need a short term player to bridge the gap between players in our system and what we've got.
  23. Yeah that pains me to say that. Maybe this weeks series will be less aggressive since we are both out of it, but it was much more laid back in Wrigley then I expected.
  24. It makes me throw up every time Patterson gets an AB and Gamel sits on the bench. FREE MAT GAMEL!
