  1. Its good to see Cirillo doing well today. 2 walks, 2 hits and a dinger.
  2. Way to finish off the series. Lets see some Prince. Does anybody really question Tomo being a solid pitcher anymore. He seems to be throwing strikes at a higher rate since joining the crew and like Uke and Jim always say, "its not how hard you throw the ball, its where you locate it." If they can get him resigned at a reasonable rate, I say go for it, better than paying a free agent big money and losing draft choices. Can I lay claim to a signature of Jimmy's quote? Sigh. I love baseball.
  3. Good to see Carlos hitting good late in the year after his mid season slump.
  4. I assume that they do their best to keep pictures of the hazing secret, but there has to be some out there somewhere. Who do you think would look worst (or best if you prefer) as a Hooter's girl, my bet is on Prince being hilarious looking. Maybe one of you computer wizzes could photo shop an example.
  5. How come all our young guys get crushed in their first starts. The last real good one I remember is Woodard.
  6. Maybe its just all these years of losing, but I've had a bad feeling since the home stand started. Then, with Ben going down, it has grown. Its sort of like Lord of the Rings. The Dark Power of the Losing Season keeps trying to pull the Brewers back in.
  7. I believe that the Hall of Fame should really be the "Best of the Best", but it hasn't been that way and includes a lot of guys like Dawson and Rice. Thus, unless there is a tightening up of the qualifications, guys like these need to be in the Hall. I'm torn on Rice, but Dawson was a better all around player. The Gold gloves, steals, Silver sluggers, All-star appearances, and especially the MVP show that he was a dominant player in his time. I say yes.
  8. Drew and Coshon said on the "D List" that the game would be on TBS. Not to trust what they say, but that is a good sign. Also, doesn't it make sense to DFA MaGruder and keep Hart and Fielder. They definitely need bats on the bench and team speed. They both are better hitters than Mags and Hart can run, as seen by his SB the other night.
  9. It looks liek it worked out, but I agree with being concerned about seeing the bad Ohka tonight instead of the Good Ohka.
  10. I think the logic is that the only two guys that can hurt you are Cabrera and Delgado.
  11. Watch Real Sports. The new episode on HBO discusses where he has been and what he's up to. They estimate that he MAY be a late round pick.
  12. We wouldn't have Magruder in the lineup tonight if we DFA'd him and had Corey Hart instead. Uke is talking like it may be a few days at least. Homer had Doug (don't call me Bob) Melvin on tonight and asked about calling up Prince (although Homer kept calling him Cecil) and Corey Hart to improve the bench. Doug said, blah, blah, blah, blah, "and that", blah, blah, blah, they get 30 at bats a week in the minors, we don't pinch hit except for the pitcher and maybe JJ, we don't need anybody to start right now, and Durrington improves our team speed. Come on Doug, we could use a guy like Corey who gives us a bat and a guy who can play some centerfield. Give us a couple more weeks of Wild Card fever, please!
  13. So big brother knows when I'm watching Late night Cinemax? There goes my political future.
  14. Does anyone know how they do TV ratings? Do they still have boxes that the Nielson people put on your TV to monitor what you watch? I've never known anyone who has been a part of one of these ratings surveys.
  15. This probably deserves its own thread, but again Uke didn't tell us what happened to Overbay. Is he getting senile? Do we have another Harry Carey? It seems like he's busy telling stories and loses track of why he's there. Last week I listened to two innings of a game and he made at least 10 major mistakes (calling people the wrong name, getting the outs or counts wrong, getting stats mixed up, etc.). I love the guy, but Powell is much better at telling us what is happening.
  16. Is this 1982? Holy Bambi's Bombers!
  17. This inning is a good example of why the Brewers want Corey Hart to work on his Defense. Could you imagine all the balls dropping if we had Hart and Lee starting in the outfield?
