  1. Rosenthal has ineresting things to say. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8319678/Savvy-Brewers-turn-prospects-into-ace-Sabathia
  2. I did mention a Chris Carter. Does that count for anything?
  3. 1st trade: Gerald Laird and Vicente Padilla for Coco Crisp and Chris Carter (Shoppach then gets moved to the Mets). Brewer trade: Fuentes for Hammond and Irraberren
  4. Steve Phillips just said on Baseball Tonight that "Rickie Weeks missed the tag." What?!?!?
  5. If you're criticizing him for not pinch hitting Jenkins in the 5th, you're wrong. No way you should pinch hit that early in the game with a lead. All the other points are valid but that one's way off. If you think that, then you are the stupid one, not Yost.
  6. Why is no one venting about the fact that once again we had runners on 2nd and 3rd with less than one out and couldn't score? How about that we couldn't do anything with 3 extra outs today? Our offense is not performing well and that is not Ned Yost's fault. I thought I would at least try to steer the conversation away from Ned, at least until Monday when they don't score enough again and it's his fault again.
  7. It's not fun to watch them anymore. I have tickets to Saturday and I think I want to go camping instead. If I'm not having fun watching them, then why am I even debating what to do this weekend? These are the questions I ponder.
  8. we're still in first after tonight.
  9. interesting blurb about Yo's start. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/unfiltered/?p=485 (added tag --1992) (changed tag --1992)
  10. Haudricourt was on 1510 this morning and said that Yost revealed to him off the record the player he "singled out." He didn't include the player's name in the article because of that but said it should be easy to figure out who it was. IMO it was Hardy.
  11. No matter what Ned Yost does it won't be enough for many people. He is in a no win situation here in Milwaukee. He seems destined for Atlanta.
  12. This was on the BP chat today (Christina Karhl): Mark (Milwaukee): Weeks was sent down today. Should we expect him to be an average major leaguer (no shame in that) or does the wrist problem hide is ability still? Christina Kahrl: I've been critical of Weeks in the past, so if this is true, and even if it's about the injury, I guess I've always been more fundamentally concerned with whether or not he can play second base, and if not, if the Brewers can settle for his becoming the new Ron Gant. It's a terrible thing, but it's another reason I think moving Bill Hall to the outfield--as successful as that has been--was a case of moving the wrong infielder to the outfield.
  13. Pittsburgh is paying every single dollar of Morris' contract. I would hate to be a Pirate fan.
  14. according to this article leadership is an issue. sportsillustrated.cnn.com...index.html
  15. I don't believe fire or dedication is an issue. I do think that they might be distracted due to their youth. check out this article, it's a good read. sportsillustrated.cnn.com...index.html
  16. What others are saying: from the Padres blog (and my God I hope that doesn't turn out to be true) Will Inman is a poor man's Jake Peavy. He's firey, he strikes people out, he's young (20), and he's on the smaller side (6'0). the Cubs fans bash on the trade: www.bleedcubbieblue.com/s...192627/163 the Cardinals fans: www.vivaelbirdos.com/stor...191949/078
  17. jerry owens is someone out there right now who is hitting .300 since his last call up and will steal bases.
  18. pivotal season: Parra underated: Iribarren overrated: Escobar underachieving: Rogers
  19. www.baseballprospectus.co...cleid=5927 Edit: Spelling Mr. Nichols' name
  20. BP came out with their projections Gallardo comparables: Jake Peavy, Rich Harden, Kyle Davies, Chad Billingsley They gave him a stuff rating of 20, better than Hughes and Bailey. Clemens got a 23 rating for comparison sakes.
  21. If solome has a good year this year, will he finally jump up on some of these prospect lists? He seems to good to be so low. Maybe I'm overrating him, though.
  22. Posted by Kevin Goldstein @ December 5, 2006, 02:26 PM Guy No. 1 stopping me in the lobby tells me about rumored deal between Milwaukee and Philadelphia that basically involves Kevin Mench for Jon Leiber. It kind of makes sense for both sides in a way, even more so if the Phillies find a takes for Pat Burrell.

  24. The ending did not live up to the previous ones but Dwight playing the recorder made me almost whiz in my pants. BJ Novak is a genious.
  25. A little bit of banter about Ryan Braun. www.minorleagueball.com/s...14735/3625
