  1. That makes me happy. I'd rather have Hardy at 75-80 percent over Counsell. Well, Counsell's actually looked very good so far and I don't mind him there if JJ needs to get to full strength. It's a long season, and we don't want him to get injured or something.
  2. I'm actually for offering Bill Simmons the job. The NBA is all about swinging the deal for the A player. If that means packaging a bunch of Bs and Cs, good deal.
  3. That changed this year as well. It's the Metavante Club and is remodeled.
  4. Agreed. This is my one complaint. EVERY outfielder can routinely catch Willie Maysesque catches running backwards into the wall. Also, the hitting probability should be a little more random for placement. If you don't directional hit, way too many balls go into centerfield. Also, very few foul balls.
  5. Is Power Pros a cartoonish game or a sim?
  6. I picked up 2K8 last night for the Wii and I'm very pleased. I had been waiting for a baseball sim to come out for the Wii for quite some time. The main issue with baseball games, in my mind, is that as the graphics and technology increased the control schemes became less and less intuitive. That changes with the Wii. Learning to swing and watch the pitch come of the pitchers hand is fun yet challenging. You need to get into a groove. If you start your swing and pull back on the controller you can check your swing. Pitching is also enjoyable starting with pointing at the screen for targeting, windup and delivery that effects the location. The better your form and timing the more accurate the pitch. To me, this is baseball. Anyone else pick this up? It will never be Baseball Stars, but we may be entering a new golden era in baseball games.
  7. I have to say, it was some of the worst TV I've seen in a long time considering the large budget they were allocated. The acting was simply atrocious.
  8. Baseball Stars. By a mile.

  10. Wow, I am shocked that he wouldn't have a high-end alarm system or something. This sounds like something where timing could have saved him. Miami sounds like a terrible place to live. My experienced driving through do not point to the contrary.
  11. So, with 6 picks in the first two rounds, could that mean that we'll tack a stab at some Boras clients that slip? I'd think college pitchers and even relievers would get more consideration. Should be exciting.
  12. itrackr.com swear by it.
  13. Maybe I'm crazy, but I would really like to see less Steve Carrell time on the episodes. I know he's supposed to go too far everytime, but it just lasts too long sometimes. He is, by far, at his funniest when interacting with Dwight. It's the only time his character has balance. Also, when Creed approached Ryan after the announcement I was laughing so hard. Creed is hilarious. But the funniest scene, IMO, in the episode is when Jim and Pam approached Toby about signing the 'relationship' document. Toby: "let's just wait and see." Toby is a vastly underrated character.
  14. Gosh I loved Nuke Em High. I think your job would be classified as 'high stress'.
  15. Season Premiere: Solid B Pam.
  16. Okay, I've been a Ned backer all year -- but that is a terrible time to throw a pitch at Pujols.
  17. Yeah, I just saw that place, but they seem to be requiring a two-night stay to include a Saturday. Hope you enjoy it.
  18. Okay, just ruled out Sybaris... They list this as a rate (no need to say anything else):
  19. I can't escape the thought that some lady died at Sybaris. I would think the whole time it was in my pool, would make me feel gross. Thanks for the recommendations. We've been to the Osthaff and have enjoyed it.
  20. Help. The places I take my wife for our anniversary each year in Cedarburg are booked up. Does anyone know of a nice place within an hour radius of Milwaukee that I can surprise her with? A whirlpool or fireplace would be a huge plus.
  21. Wait, the Rays and the Royals are merging? Hmmm... not bad on the surface, they should be able to make one good club when they merge.
  22. The American version clearly has more depth into their characters - even the side ones. I think everything beyond mid season one really seperated itself. I know more than a few people that 'love' the BBC version because they discovered it before their roommate/friend/brother. It's fine and dandy, but the American version goes much farther. That said, Gareth rocks.
  23. When you are posting, there is an uppercase 'A' in the upper lefthand corner of the textbox. When you highlight some text and then select that button, you can make that text any color you want. It has become an accepted practice on this board to use blue for sarcastic statements.
  24. This just happened to a friend of mine for a larger paycheck that included sales commission, etc. After weeks of nothing happening, he contacted a friend who knew a labor attorney. One call from that person, and the check was sent within the hour. Just the mere thought of having a labor lawsuit and they usually fold.
