  1. If you call your bank about the overdraft fees they can usually get a few removed as a courtesy. If it's your first time, then they are instructed to do so. But they put the onus on you. Also, they will usually setup overdraft protection free of charge, but wait for you to ask.
  2. It's conceivable that we could finish 4th in the wild card race. The Brewers almost make me physically ill.
  3. Easy answer: If Gagne blows the game, the press and fans blame Gagne. If Dillary blows the game, the press and fans blame Yost.
  4. Wait, we are talking about marriage here, right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Really?... I can't imagine. I don't sleep well without my wife in bed. I guess you just get used to the body warmth or something. Maybe you should just get the 'sleep number' bed.
  6. When I think of Wisconsin restaurants, I think of Supper Clubs where every Friday they have a fish fry and every Saturday they have the prime rib special -- and it's 'the best prime rib in the state'. But hey, Ruby Tuesdays has good food for a chain.
  7. I look forward to the pink part of that graph continuing to grow. Thank you for the visualization. Tonight would be HUGE for us.
  8. Thank you Fido, that makes the run really clear. I think shooting for 20 wins would be the goal certainly, with at least one being against the Cards this week.
  9. I would spend a day just walking over in Greenwich Village and checking out all the little shops. We ate at a number of the small ethnic restaurants in that area and found it to be the most affordable and best tasting part of Manhattan.
  10. I can tell you first-hand that this was not even a 60% Milwaukee crowd. I'm not sure what caused it, maybe the ticket price, but it was a very strange crowd for an Eddie show. Loud, entitled, and generally boorish. And really, does everyone in the audience need to check their cell phones every 15 seconds. That stupid LCD light was distracting. Between that, and half of the audience exchanging spots in the bathroom between every two songs it was the antsiest crowd I've seen for a low-key show.
  11. This is one of the worst ranking systems I've ever seen. Did you check out there methodology? One of the items is how people rate their professors on a website? I don't give a crap if you hate your professor, as long as you learn something. Some of the very best professors are total SOBs. This was just bad reporting, they should be embarrassed. Just look at this: That would be like ranking pitchers on 25% on innings pitched, 25% on strikeouts, and 50% on complete game shutouts
  12. I was also at the show. After a while, Eddie had been getting tired of the 'Pirates of Silence' and had to yell STFU to the whole audience. Even after that, when he made reference to Chicago a bunch of idiots started yelling 'Cubbies' and 'Chi-Town'. I seriously felt like the audience was breathing in some sort of de-evolution gas and I was someone immune to it. One guy kept yelling 'Lukin' and eventually had to be escorted out. Eddie had Lukin on his playlist and removed it. Oh well, the setlist was still awesome. Arc was one of the finest things I've ever seen in concert.
  13. 10% for a buffet, provided they are polite and refill your drink without prompting.
  14. Houston almost has to sign someone like Sheets to justify all of their massive spending in free agency. They'll need to just go 'all in'.
  15. Ugh, my wife is the same way. I often see the Discover card just laying around on in a back pocket. I cringe when I see it just laying in the car. Thank god for fraud protection -- but really, put it back in the purse. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Unless you use a product with a register to lay out your checks. Some online banking products and any personal financial manager would. To some, it is just a matter of habit to write the checks down. We write about 12-15 checks a year, so for me it's not too tough to handle.
  17. I don't think the point of balancing a check book is to determine how much you have in your account. It's more to see that the bank did not make some error (i.e. you made a deposit of $345.67 and they gave you $34.56 - it's happened to me), or someone did not make some unauthorized transaction in your account, or some store that you went to didn't charge you twice for a purchase, etc. In addition, maybe you wrote a check to someone (there are occasions when you don't have a choice - for example, my son's school fees pretty much have to be done with check or cash), and they don't cash it for a long time, then, at some unexpected moment they cash it when you are low on funds. Your online balance won't reflect uncashed checks. However, all that being said, it does annoy me when people have to record there purchase right there in the check out lane as you wait. All Online Banking products should both have check imaging and a transaction register. It is more complete record than anyone could do individually. You literally have your scanned checks in an online database. If you want to take it a step further you can simply integrate your transaction report into a personal finance manager like Quicken or Money. Online Banking is by far the greatest security enhancement to have ever entered the banking world, and the research proves this out.
  18. To write a check is poor.
  19. I think the barber should get at least 3 bucks tip of they are good. If I can tell they are taking their time and getting it right with the razor, then I always reward that. I've tried cutting my own hair, and I'm not so good at it.
  20. They need to make a big deal about this and post it on street signs. I want to see sexymilwaukee.com out there to draw in those tourists that like to paaaarrrrtey. This magazine article could really change national opinion about our working class germanic heritage. wait, where is the 'colorthetextblue' button? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I'd say the chemistry is great and the talent level is above average. They are still the second best team in the NL.
  22. I didn't think so, but then my garbage cans started getting stacked in the middle of the driveway. I'm not caving though. Eventually I may need to resort to the giant boulder like in Funny Farm.
  23. Well, all I know is that if you don't give our garbage men a Christmas tip, they tend to scatter your cans right in front of your driveway. So really, is more of an optional service upgrade (bribe).
  24. Yeah, I actually thought Mo was very graceful in his comments. I like the guy, but he didn't fit quite right.
  25. Hmmmm. Well, we all knew that having a shoot first point guard with Redd, Jefferson, Villy, and Bogut just was not going to work. However, I'm not sure we got back what we needed. Ridnour is servicable, but Jones and Griffen are useless. It does clear up the SF position though. So: PG - Ridnour, Lue/Sessions SG - Redd, Bell, Jones SF - Jefferson, Luc Mbah a Moute PF - Villanueva, Alexander, Allen C - Bogut, Gadzooks
