  1. Might as well just have everyone swing for the fences, since they're all going to choke the second a runner gets on base anyway.
  2. Is there any batter in this lineup who doesn't pee his pants in excitement when we end up with a leadoff baserunner and follow it with a horrible AB?
  3. Exactly why DS should go get another bullpen arm..like Wilson. We know. Wilson, Verlander, Gray, Samardzija, Dennis Eckersley, bring 'em all aboard.
  4. I'd rather have Hughes who has at least been good the last 2 months other than one total crapfest outing. Barnes seems like a disaster waiting to happen every outing. Hader is a great late inning option too if Counsell ever actually learns to trust him, but that's obviously not an option today. I'd have Barnes no better than 5th on the reliever hierarchy at the moment. Knebel, Swarzak, Hader, Hughes, Barnes.
  5. Please get Barnes out before he screws up another game.
  6. Nice 0-2 pitch, Jacob. He's been a total trash can lately.
  7. I can't see the name 'Carl Edwards Jr.' without picturing a race car driver at Hardees.
  8. Unfortunately, Hader isn't going to be available for at least 3 games. But if we win this one, it'll all be worth it.
  9. Bet most said 20 years ago that we'd never have replay review in MLB.
  10. Hader's 0-2 pitch to Scwarber wasn't even close to being a ball. More pitches on Hader that he shouldn't have had to throw. It would have been absolute crap if it had led to a walk. Umpires change games every day. It's gotten really bad when you have to call for machines on a daily basis.
  11. When he hit HRs in back to back games I was really hoping he was starting to come out. Unfortunately, it's been back to the same. I think he's going to be a very good player but at this point if we are still in a race in 2 weeks, I'd give Brinson til that point to get something going and if he's still looking this bad, I'd go back to Broxton, who is going to be just as bad at his low points but at least will also have moments where he'll carry you.
  12. This offense simply needs to do better. 3 runs in a game and a half in a huge series is not going to cut it.
  13. Why not? I would certainly appreciate the candor.
  14. Why Nieuwenhuis over, say, Wren? Stearns says on TV that Kirk is "someone [Counsell] trusts and knows." Well, that's certainly fortunate for Kirk, since no other team in baseball would be interested in having him on their 25 man roster.
  15. Woodruff has a CS rehab start again tonight. Especially with his starts lining up with Guerra's, I think you have to get him up in Milwaukee for his next start and either send Guerra down or find a way to DL him.
  16. Worst 3 scoreless innings ever by a pitcher? Maybe we are just due for some good luck after the last few series. One can hope.
  17. Good thing Baez has the plate patience of Hernan Perez.
  18. I realize Villar has been a frustrating player this year, but I hope he starts seeing the lion's share of time at 2nd. At least there's some upside there. Sogard was a fun little story, but he's quite expectedly 1 for his last 17 since his return, as he's still a career journeyman, and we can't wish him back to May mode.
