  1. Yeah, the only guy from that playoff loss that was a big loss of a valuable player that we were used to having in the lineup, was Elgton Jenkins. If that’s the difference between winning and not even being able to score a single offensive touchdown, you’re not a contender. IIRC that was the game where Aaron Jones appeared to have a long breakaway touchdown down the sidelines right before halftime before he bizarrely slowed down to try to cut inside instead, neither scoring nor getting out of bounds to stop the clock, and we somehow ended up with 0 points on the drive. The defense played their butts off and the offense and special teams blew it. It sucked.
  2. Tonyan had 204 yards in the 2021 season and 2 TDs. Like, we can’t be serious here. Why do I care what he did in the weird COVID season 12-18 months earlier? Why does anyone? And Jamaal Williams had 17 TDs the following season. It doesn’t mean he was a special, valuable player. Neither is Robert Tonyan. If you are going to cherry pick the TD total of some flash in the pan TE in a season that literally *wasn’t even the one we are discussing* to help explain away a playoff loss, I don’t even know what to tell you. Are we able to chalk up every loss where Jaire or Bahk were rostered but unavailable as a bad injury fluke throughout the entire post-2020 era? That should cover quite a few of them.
  3. If we are going to use the absences of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Robert Tonyan and Kevin King, to excuse a playoff game loss, we might as well just go ahead and acknowledge that we would go 20-0 every season if it weren’t for those darn injuries. Especially if we’re going to add two players to that list who were unavailable due to injury more than they were available from 2021-2024.
  4. Going to need the TLDR version.
  5. I never said Jaire was a bad pick. I literally said he was either the best 1st round pick, or 2nd best 1st round pick, in the Gute era.
  6. This is a genuine question, I’m honestly just asking — do you have any statistical/data backing on that “maybe 10%” number or is it just totally out of thin air? Also related to that, I’d like to point out that I was quoting his 1st round track record specifically, which is unrelated to his success on Day 2 and 3, where I think he has done rather well relative to most of his peers.
  7. The “best” hitter on this team has a .792 OPS. That is a 9 hole hitter in L.A or New York. It’s a serious, serious problem. They are numerous hitters away.
  8. As an aside, the fact that Gute just cut literally his 1st or 2nd best 1st round pick of all time is a pretty good illustration of how brutal his track record is in the 1st.
  9. Yes, I think it’s highly likely that once again, the Packers will beat those inferior opponents, get a 6th or 7th seed, and be one and done in January. Here is my issue — at the end of the 2023 season, when the Packers came within a hair of the NFC Championship, they looked like a team on the drastic rise. The improvement from the first half of 2023 was extreme. The “rebuild” was clearly coming to an end, and expectations were high coming into 2024. Stagnation, and even decline, certainly weren’t expected. “They’re young, they’ll improve even more!” was the cliche line repeated. Fact is, Gute hasn’t done a good job at all of complementing the young talent on this team with any experience. When the expectations were non-existent, that was fine. Now, not so much. The goal isn’t to have the youngest team in the NFL every year. It’s to win a Super Bowl. I think we can all agree that, a year and a half later after the 49er playoff exit, not even being among the top 5 teams in the conference as far as who should realistically have expectations of achieving that goal this season., is certainly disappointing.
  10. Detroit getting a healthy Hutch back is worth more than any move any North team did this offseason. Also, I’m not as high on JJ McCarthy as the hype train is, but the Vikings won 14 games with Sam Darnold last year. It’s not like he’s replacing Mahomes.
  11. Statistically, the Packers did indisputably win 11 games last year. On the field, there’s a lot of context missing from this statement. The Packers took care of business against pretty much every inferior opponent on the schedule. Every time they were tested against a contender, they failed the test. With numerous opportunities. They didn’t look like an improved team at all from the second half of the 9 win 2023 Packer season. If you want to put the O/U at 11 wins next year, I’ll definitely take the under.
  12. What a lousy offseason by Gute. The only thing we really had to hang our hat on was “if we get a healthy Jaire back that is worth more than anything else this offseason” and now we don’t even have that. Not only did you not keep Jaire, you couldn’t even get any compensation for him. Obviously the games aren’t played on paper, surprising players could break out, etc, but no unbiased Packer can say this looks like a more talented roster than what we went into the 2024 season with. Disappointing. I would anticipate us being widely expected to finish in the bottom half of our division again, and I would concur that this is most likely.
  13. Sorry, I have no idea what happened with the PC resulting in the multiple posts. Please delete.
  14. Pulling Rhys for a PR in the 6th inning knowing he'll come up again for a far inferior bat is not a "50/50 shot".

  20. In several ways Murphy should take accountability for this loss. I hope he does, and doesn't just make excuses. I'd respect him for it.
  21. I know there are worse hitters in our lineup than Collins, but he has not looked like a major league hitter on either of his last two ABs.
