  1. That should be a lesson to all on the value of hustling. Great job Aoki.
  2. Out of the 17 outs recorded against us so far this game, we have literally given them 24% of them.
  3. The sac bunt in front of Braun with nobody out makes zero sense to me. Give them an out and take the bat out of Braun's hands.
  4. Nice AB by Ransom. Really, really need a good one by Gomez.
  5. Wow, that was a great AB by Maldanado against Kershaw. Impressive.
  6. Does Narron tell our hitters to take pitches in the zone and hack at anything out of it?
  7. Weeks has one sacrifice bunt in the past four seasons. Not convinced a bunt would have worked out much differently. Johnny Narron's been pushing Weeks to swing at get-me-over fastballs. Did there, missed it. My worry is that they're trying to change Weeks' approach just to get him out of the slump, and stuff like that isn't going to help. Rickie of old wouldn't swing 3-0. I get the approach, sort of, but still -- time and place, and this definitely wasn't the time and place.
  8. That's a lot easier said than done. Rickie is a terrible bunter. I'm definitely not mad they didn't have him bunt, but having him hack away 3-0 was inexcusable.
  9. I'm freaking speechless at Rickie Weeks having the green light on a 3-0 count. So stupid.
  10. I actually always figured that since Braun was a local guy, he'd get somewhat mixed reactions in LA. Certainly not the case.
  11. Scully actually spelled out "Nyjer" the incorrect way earlier in the broadcast.
  12. I have no problem with people accepting Lucroy's story, even though I find it a bit out there. I do think that saying that if he punched something, he would come out and just say that is pretty clearly untrue, though. No pro athlete is going to come out and say, "I got pissed and punched a wall". Much better to have to be a little embarrassed for a few weeks than be labeled a player with a temper problem your entire career, fair or not.
  13. I recall us being furious when pooholes did that to brewers fan This one was also 100% provoked when they threw back the first one he threw into the stands. Pujols has never been the most popular guy at Miller Park, but I'm pretty sure Brewer fans have never been complete jackasses to him the way that Dodger fans have been to Braun tonight. They flat out earned that one.
  14. Hahaha awesome...Braun caught that one for the last out, faked the throw into the seats, and tucked it.
  15. The MVP chants don't really bother me. Fans chant MVP for their best, MVP-caliber player all the time. It is a little ridiculous in May, though, and really comes off as sour grapes if they're just doing it because of Braun's presence there.
  16. Does Scully realize that Green made the last out in the 1st?
  17. Wrong thread, but there is no way that Lucroy is going to tell the world that he punched a wall and broke his finger if he did. That looks a lot worse than making up some accident story. On topic, let's hope that Fiers can come through with a nice start tonight. It's too bad that Peralta has struggled so badly this season, this would be a great opportunity for him to start showing what he might bring to the future of the Brewers rotation.
  18. Any hope left for Arnett? Looks like he's pitching well in relief in High A, without knowing how his stuff is looking I wonder if they will try him in the Stars bullpen in the near future to see if he can progress. If there's any hope it's probably in the bullpen, but any sort of MLB career for him at this point would be more than we thought we'd get out of him.
  19. Nobody here is saying Lucroy has an anger management problem and definitely no one here is accusing him of domestic violence. Personally, I have no problem with a guy letting off some steam by punching a non-living object, though as we see with boxer's fractures, it can have consequences. But come on, a lot of us have. A lot of 20 somethings have. People handle anger in different ways, and that doesn't mean there's an anger management problem. As long as you're not expressing anger in the form of physical or verbal abuse towards living people/animals, I don't see an issue. From a medical standpoint, it's a far far more likely scenario than his story. Is his story possible? Sure, it's also probably possible that I could break both my arms from tripping over my own feet when breaking my fall, but highly unlikely. Lets be honest, if Luc punched something, he's not going to tell Skip or his doctors, he's going to make something up as almost anyone in his situation would. He might tell a few people in the clubhouse the actual story, but it's not getting out. Actually the one thing that kind of makes me believe him is the fact that I find it odd that his story would involve his wife. I would think if he was making it up, he could come up with something that didn't involve throwing her under the bus. Either way, it doesn't really matter, it is what it is now and he's out 4-6 weeks.
  20. Hats off to Cappy, I'm not sure if it'll last but he deserves every bit of the success he's enjoying right now, I'm sure he worked very hard to get back.
  21. Good points on RR, with the extension I imagine he is here for the next 2 years minimum for better or worse, so I may as well get used to it. I think despite the record, the pressure is pretty much off his shoulders by this point, as no matter how bad this team ends up this season, it can be pretty passed off to the fans and media as too injury-plagued to compete, whether this is entirely true or not. So I think other than the very fractional chance that this team still has to make the playoffs, probably the best we can hope for out of him this year is that he continues to learn and develop to make himself a better manager in 2013 and beyond. I think Melvin is under a tremendous amount of pressure right now, though. He's got some potentially franchise-altering and fanbase-altering decisions to make, and I'm sure him and Ash and Mark A. are going to be involved in some pretty intensive talks over the next 2 months regarding this.
  22. Looking in AA at possible near-term contributors, I'm wondering what you guys think of Kyle Heckathorn and Evan Anundsen. For anyone who follows Huntsville a little more closely, do you see any realistic possibility that either of these two could have a future in the Brewers' rotation? If so, with what kind of upside? Possible #3, or #4/#5 at best?
