  1. Well, my mistake, Ned "Dusty" Yost is bringing Cappy out for one more despite a PC over 100.
  2. I am struggling to understand why people still even bring up Krynzel's name when talking about players to bring up. He hasn't shown anything in a long time to prove that he can compete on the major league level. He's hitting around .240 in the minors, just like last year, and it's not like he's a power outfielder, either. If you ask me, he needs a change of scenary -- would rather see Gwynn than Krynzel.
  3. I suppose that will probably be it for Cappy tonight. Nothing really even flashy tonight from him, just went out there and did his job just like he almost always does.
  4. Gross has been awfully solid lately. Average back up to .266
  5. Only 739 shy of the all-time record for Prince. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Capuano was unfazed by that jam. Way to go!
  7. You cannot stop Naifi Perez, you can only hope to contain him. Urggh..
  8. I'm going to feel awfully stupid if I jinx Cappy here and he gives up 4 next inning, but does anyone know offhand what the record is for quality starts in a season? I imagine they haven't always kept track of that and I don't know if it is even a real "stat", but I'm just curious. EDIT: Then he, of all people, walks the pitcher. Maybe I DID jinx him.
  9. Well, we still strand leadoff doubles and runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs with the best of them.
  10. Sure seems like Prince has had an awfully rough June. Might it be that he has gotten away from pure hitting and trying to be more of the big slugger that everyone expected him to be? Him picking up some additional HR's have been nice, but I wish he'd go back to what he was doing.
  11. I am certain that's a sarcasm comment. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. This is a sucky, sucky loss. Are we scared of being above .500? We have a realistic chance of losing the series to the Royals tommorow. That is sad, especially with the chance we had to really get back in the race.
  13. I think we will either go ahead and take the lead this inning, or we will make the Royal's closer look like Eric Gagne. No middle ground.
  14. I, too, saw us with a 5-1 lead last time I had looked. It's very unnerving. It's almost literally like we got a nice little lead against the league's worst team, then realized we would be over .500 if we won this game, freaked out, and suddenly did everything we possibly could to lose it. Bad pitching? Check. Errors? Check. Squandering scoring opportunities? Check. This would be a horrible time for things to fall apart especially with the opportunity to gain 1 game today on the Cards, Reds, and Astros. Still 3 outs to turn it around...get it DONE!!!!
  15. It doesn't really matter tonight, especially since he had a good game, but even though he seems to be getting hot, Geoff Jenkins cannot, for the LIFE of him, hit any given left-handed pitcher. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. This obviously isn't the focus tonight -- but did we really get a good relief pitcher for -- Enrique Cruz? That's just weird.
  17. And Hart delivers some much welcome insurance. Way to go, Corey!
  18. Well, not too much damage. Still not all that comfortable with a 3 run lead considering our bullpen. Really would be nice to pick up a couple more insurance runs -- it's not like we're facing cream of the crop long relief pitching right now, but you would sure think so given the last few innings. Blowing this game would be very, very tough to take.
  19. Though we have a borderline comfortable lead right now, is anybody else a little bit concerned and/or irritated that we've managed to strand 6 runners already through 3?
  20. Hmm, a lefty in for K.C. now. If Jenks gets a hit off him, THEN you know he's hot.
  21. Who is this Bobby Keppel youngster? So far, he seems all right with me! ......amazing how much Bill Hall's value has jumped in the last year ......could Jenks be out of the slump? I don't know what it is but everytime he gets pulled out of that 3 hole, something seems to start clicking. You'd think Ned would take the hint after a couple years. .....good to see Miller with the hit. He's due to start hitting again.
  22. The Royals 2nd best hitter hits .265. Wow. How do they even win at ALL with this lineup?
  23. And Rickie does what Rickie does best...get hit by the pitch...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Don't even know if we'll be able to pick up any ground in the Wild Card this series ....Cleveland, to put it bluntly, sucks. Although we might be given the chance to gain some ground on the Cards. If the division is still realistic to anyone.
  24. Oh it's gotta be Villy next start. He was actually very impressive again. 6 2/3rd, actually more than his last start. 5 K's. Just the two mistakes that went for HR's, other than that he pretty much dominated again. And NO walks.
