Well, that's a wrap. Great offense today. Way to let a huge game slip away. That's the difference between a wild-card contender and a team mired in medicroity. Could have been 3 1/2 out, make it 5 1/2.
Watch this game go 20 innings, and after the game Ned will say, "THIS is why I keep so many pitchers." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
I can't see us winning this game. I have a hard time believing that our bullpen can continue to hold up, and our offense doesn't look like they have any intention of scoring any runs today.
This lineup owes Villy an apology. He deserved the W today. I am a little surprised they did not bring him back in for the 7th, especially with only 79 pitches and the pitchers spot due up next.
If Sheets can return this season and STAY healthy, we still have a shot at the playoffs IMO. If not, I don't think we're going to have a strong enough rotation to contend.
So what do you expect him to do? "Excuse me, Mr. Umpire, that was a foul ball." I don't know if it hit him or the bat, but if the ump doesn't know, you can't blame Brady for playing it off like it hit him.
So far, Villanueva doesn't seem too fazed about being a 22 year old AA player suddenly starting in the MLB on national television. Hope he keeps it up.
