  1. I thought E-5 was the right call. Not the most routine play but he should have made it.
  2. Most Brewers are playing really well lately. Caleb Durbin is one of the few that isn’t.
  3. Vaughn’s cooled off in August from his insane July, but can’t be too mad at him for that one. Made good contact off a tough pitcher, just hit it to the wrong spot.
  4. I’d probably take a shot on him in our rotation if the Pirates don’t plan to score any runs for him for his entire career. He might get some run support here.
  5. Not a fan of that Strike 2 to Collins, but can’t say we haven’t been the beneficiary of a few of them the other way tonight.
  6. Score a run off Skenes and make him throw 25 pitches every inning and we should have a pretty solid night.
  7. Man, that was one hell of an AB by Frelick against Skenes. Make him throw 8 pitches and finish with a HR?
  8. Just curious for those who follow the minor league system closely — are you higher on Made, or Pena, and why? If both eventually make it to the bigs with the Brewers, where do you see them ending up? Pena at 2B and Made at SS?
  9. I’m going to go with the much IGT - maligned William Contreras. Not just because he’s now got a 3.1 WAR, or his 111 OPS+ playing through the injury with calls for his benching. But also because I believe his role and relationship with this pitching staff is invaluable to their success. It’s hard to pick one, but I think he’s a huge reason we are 30 games over .500.
  10. Lockridge is pretty much… as advertised so far. Good defender but not someone you want in the lineup much. I guess he’s worked some deep counts.
  11. I said the Mariners made the biggest move of all at the deadline (acquiring Suarez), and have gotten squat out of the biggest move. Suarez has a ,357 OPS and -0.5 WAR with Seattle. I would say that statement was not inaccurate at all.
  12. I know of another team that is 9-0 since the deadline, so their approach seems to have worked for them as well.
  13. I think MLB umpires have colluded to all be collectively awful now, so that they can’t be individually singled out anymore.
  14. Quinn is hot garbage today. Going to have an ERA correction day because it just doesn’t pay to pull him early with the taxed pen.
