    Just needed Rhys to not strike out and at least move the runner over, so of course he strikes out.

    Yet Civale has better numbers over the same stretch (in ERA, not necessarily all peripherals, but it's a very small sample size). No one is talking about him as a #2. Frankie has been decent. Again, he's allowed at least 3 earned runs in all but 2 starts. What am I missing here? That's not someone I'd want taking the ball in a Game 2 for me.

    We get 2 extra roster spots tomorrow, but we could have 3 if we DFA Jake Bauers.

    Think we need to pump the brakes on him a little bit. He's had a grand total of 2 good outings since we acquired him and people are talking about extending him.

    Montas managed to turn a solid outing into a poor one with a couple very ill-timed walks.

    Probably have to. Short outing from Rhea a couple days ago and a doubleheader yesterday has put the pen in a vulnerable spot. Would be nice to add a few more runs so we could feel better about it.

    That's going to be a lot of money again for something that's not going to be a sure thing at all. You have Woodruff very possibly returning, likely need a spot for Hall, Civale is under contract, Rhea will have his option exercised, Tobias and Freddy are locks without even figuring what happens with Ashby or Misiorowski, among others. I think Montas is here as a rental, nothing more. If you're going to spend that money to keep somebody I'd rather it be Adames.

    Lol wow. I was just glancing at my screen on Gameday and saw that Steer grounded into a double play and I just assumed the runner scored from 3rd.
