  1. There's times when a rolled ankle is nothing more than a very temporary scare with momentary pain. Maybe that's the case here.
  2. I'm not sure if it was smart to try to squeeze another inning out of Colin.
  3. Send him back out for the 8th if he's feeling good?
  4. I read one of those "articles" the other day about how Rhys has been everything the Brewers could hope for and Brewer fans should be hoping he exercises his option for next year and I realized basically anyone can be a sports journalist these days.
  5. Not sure if Turang was complaining at the end of that AB but that wasn't close to being low.
  6. One of those ABs where just putting it in play matters.
  7. Ortiz finally earned his way up to the #8 spot in the order.
  8. Nice HR by Mitchell. Birdsong looks pretty sharp. Getting squeezed on some pitches.
  9. I miss the rare but always unique if it happened blockbuster trades after the first trade deadline in August. IIRC we were very close one year to dealing Ryan Braun to the Dodgers in an August waiver trade.
  10. I bet anyone who likes Rhys Hoskins had a father that loved Rob Deer.
  11. We're slipping away in the race to avoid the WC round. That means our season could be over 2 games into the postseason just like that, and I absolutely loathe the thought.
  12. Not 2-3, but they are 6th overall. They definitely struggle to limit the long ball.
  13. If his atrocious accuracy for the last couple months is due to soreness in his arm I sure hope he would have brought it up by now.
  14. The throw was definitely on Willy, the error definitely on Willy. It was Willy's mistake. It's just that there are a lot of 1B out there that can bail their infielder out of a bad mistake. Hoskins is never that guy.
  15. Hoskins is a guy who you send up to the plate and hope he hits it out. He won't ever help you in any other baseball way.
  16. On the other hand, maybe it'll be nice having one that can throw from between 2nd and 3rd to 1st.
  17. This is going to be a pretty frustrating game to drop.
  18. Yeah, that's going to be the biggest loss for sure. The additions are exciting, perhaps a healthy Yelich and an effective and healthy Woodruff would be amazing (though probably less realistic than we think). But losing Adames will sting.
  19. Probably was a bad idea to leave Webb out there for like 150 pitches, Mr. Melvin. Ok it was like 110. But that's like 150 twenty years ago.
  20. Sheesh, Myers giving up bombs today. Some caught, some not.
  21. I definitely replay that one more as a fan than a meaningless preseason game, but to Anders that kick was anything but meaningless. Right now on a personal level, I would guess he's probably more concerned with the fact that he's unemployed and the kick that caused him to be unemployed, than he is with a playoff kick that he missed with the team that fired him.
  22. Been that way for a long time, too. Older Packer fans will remember the Packers drafting a kicker in the 3rd, I think his name was Brett Conway, who eventually got beat out by undrafted free agent Ryan Longwell, who went on to have a long and relatively successful career in Green Bay. As a general rule it's probably better to avoid drafting kickers whatsoever. Or take one in the 7th when you've got a bunch of extra picks that won't make the team anyway. I think there's just a really high mental factor for NFL kickers that you just don't really know if a guy will have until you see. Tampa Bay took a great college kicker all the way up in the 2nd a few years ago I think and he was a total disaster. I think Anders was a Rich B "that's my guy" pick.
  23. Anders is going to replay that last preseason kick in his head all season, maybe for the rest of his life if he never latches on again. I truly believe he makes the team if he makes it. Looked like he was starting to come around and then misses a short kick like he did a bunch of times last year and I think the organization just had it right there.
