  1. Yeah, I don’t really understand that with Chourio, though. It’s not like he’s a platoon bat who really struggles versus righties.
  2. I have kids. I love my kids, they are everything to me. I remember when they were infants and at no point, particularly months down the road, did I ever think of having babies at home as a “this is so distracting that I can’t possibly focus on my work” situation. As long as they are home with a capable mother, I don’t know why it would I be. Maybe he’s just slumping like many players do and this is just a made up explanation that we came up with that doesn’t have anything to do with it.
  3. Could be. I’m not saying we’re toast. But every bit of adversity is always going to feel like “here we go again” until we prove that it doesn’t need to feel like that anymore.
  4. He’s been fine. Chourio has been more than fine. Contreras has been fine. Turang and Frelick are the dudes who need to step it up.
  5. This kind of reminds me of 2019 when the Bucks were rolling in the ECF, up 2-0. The Raptors took everything they could to barely win Game 3 in overtime. The prevailing thought was “it’s fine. They don’t have enough left. It took everything just to get one win.” Only that’s not how sports work, and we didn’t win another game. Momentum is a real thing. Boyd could easily shut us down tomorrow, Peralta could have command problems and we could lose 8-1. It’s baseball. Or, we could get that big hit tomorrow and finish this. I really don’t know. But the Cubs aren’t finished just because they had to scratch and claw for one tonight. We will have to earn win #3 all the way.
  6. Yeah, I hate to feel this way… but it’s hard not to feel like “see it to believe it” at this point. There was no reason in Game 3 against the Mets last year entering the 9th inning to think that Bob Uecker’s last memory of the team would be a catastrophic blown save by one of the best closers in baseball… yet, I can’t say it was utterly surprising.
  7. Counterpoint- we are Brewer fans, and Wisconsin sports fans
  8. Obviously gotta give him credit for Bauers, but other than that, there was no need after the first 2 games for the big lineup shakeup with Yelich leading off, Turang batting 3rd, etc. You had a working formula from the first two games and completely went in a different direction and scored 3 runs. Lockridge has like a .550 lifetime OPS. It just didn’t make any sense 3 hours ago to get him a start and doesn’t make any more sense now.
  9. The 8th was a great shot. We had multiple shots to get to Taillon. I’m trying to feel confident that it’s still fine, but I’ve got that nagging doubt in the back of my mind from years of watching this team play in October.
  10. They’re going to think about this one all offseason if they lose the next two games.
  11. I’ll have Danny Jansen play shortstop if it gets us to the 10th.
  12. Going to go down quietly, it appears.
  13. Man, I would definitely had Vaughn hit, but for Perkins, not Mona. I just don’t get it.
  14. We should still win this series regardless of what happens today, but I’ve been a Brewer fan long enough to know that jumping out to a 2-0 series lead and then catastrophically choking away the next 3 games against the most hated team against our most hated manager is well within the range of possible outcomes.
  15. So disappointing, so many chances today to steal this thing. That inning is squarely on Brice Turang. You’re one of the stars of the team, and you’re in a huge spot. You can’t have that non-competitive of an AB.
  16. Monumentally disappointed with Turang this entire series, but especially that AB.
  17. Meat of the order in the 8th. This is going to be our best chance.
  18. Strike 4, stupid ump. Try not calling that one.
  19. Man this one is going to hurt to drop 4-3.
  20. I don’t really get it though… his kid is … fine, right ? He has an infant at home. He didn’t have a bereavement absence.
  21. I won’t be questioning his absence from the lineup anymore.
  22. I can’t believe he even donated to the site to convince everyone that he’s a Brewer fan. Now that’s dedication to the troll job.
  23. I’ll be irritated if we lose today regardless, FWIW.
