Yoho’s emergence could be so key to this second half. Been fun to watch,

Yeah, I mean it’s not always the same path to victory. A lot of ugliness tonight, but the pitching was great and Mitchell’s D was awesome. Sometimes it’s about winning in spite of the things you don’t do well. I think Miami is a quality opponent, too.

I’m not sure Chourio really deserved to score the winning run tonight but that’s how it goes. 🤣
  4. adambr2
He’s a well above average regular starter if he’s healthy.
  5. adambr2
Mitchell! Great pitching tonight, but Garrett is my MVP.

Worked a full count just to chase that junk. JHC Bauers.
  7. adambr2
I think he’s still moving around too well for a guy who just tore his Achilles tendon.
  8. adambr2
Lovely Brice, that’s just the way you want to start it.

It’s part coaching here. Guys going into the 9th inning in a tie game with two challenges remaining need to have some awareness of the situation. Especially with a runner in scoring position that if it is close on a strike 3, you’ve absolutely got to check.
  10. adambr2
If only we had a tool to help mitigate that.

What are we freaking doing as a team with our challenges? How do we continue to be so awful at it? How does a player for this team take a called 3rd strike off the plate with 2 strikes in the 9th inning with TWO challenges remaining and a runner in scoring position and just trot back to the dugout? It’s absolutely inexplicable.

To be fair they both have way more ABs.
  13. adambr2
Not a very Lara like AB, he was in swing mode.
  14. adambr2
Vaughn is pretty much solidifying the “platoon player” label.
  15. adambr2
Mitchell!! Might have saved the game.
  16. adambr2
lol Contreras was already going to challenge again.
  17. adambr2
My gosh I can’t stand watching Yelich.
  18. adambr2
Just stop with the sac bunt garbage.
  19. adambr2
Not even a bad pitch. Sweet swing by Lara.

New York doesn’t see contact on a tag when it comes to a Brewer challenge unless it physically leaves a bruise.
  21. adambr2
Pretty clearly out but knowing how things go in New York I can easily see them going “we’re 99% sure but not 100 so call stands”
  22. adambr2
Bauers is having a really rough night. But Ashby, feel free to go cover 1st and not just stand on the mound.
  23. adambr2
We seriously couldn’t have at least given this guy a cup of coffee this month over another Greg Jones stint if this was the plan anyway?
  24. adambr2
I’ll say this — at least Robin was hitting 5th and 6th a LOT his last two years. So even though he was somewhat washed, there was generally a realization that he no longer should be penciled in near the top of the order. Yelich has not hit lower than 4th. Not once,
  25. adambr2
Not an awful AB, but that 3-2 pitch was a good one to hit.
