    Players receive Major League service time for each day spent on the 26-man roster or the Major League injured list. It absolutely should be the case, you get hurt playing Major League baseball, it should count as your service time playing Major League Baseball.

    Baseball is different from most other team sports. Baseball is a series of 1v1 interactions where you want to put the players in the best position to succeed. A whole lot of being a good manager in baseball is helping your players understand expectations and how team success comes before individual opportunity. In other team sports, it's about making the right play so your teammate can succeed, or buying in to team success over individual success, not just individual opportunity. It's a totally different conversation to tell someone "You don't get to hit lefties" compared to, "you can't jump that slant route when we're in cover two"
