  1. Every since last year the Brewers have been very good at come from ahead losses. They hold leads better this year, but they really haven't had many come from behind win's. I thought I heard they haven't come from behind (to win) after the 7th at all yet this year.
  2. They can't move the Astros because then one team would always have to have the night off in each league (or interleague play would be happening every day of the season, one of the two)
  3. Just heard Bill Schroeder say on ESPN radio that "Johnny broke his bat, that's why he didn't hustle out of the box." I don't know, that seems like one of the worst excuses I've ever heard.
  4. I've always thought your best reliever should pitch in the most crucial situation. The problem is, the save stat is tied to money, and the manager has to keep his pitcher happy. What point is more important? Bases loaded, no out in the 7th in a 4-1 game... or 9th inning, no one on, no one out in the same 4-1 game. Obviously, the 7th is much more high leverage. I'd want Coco in the game in that situation, only it will never happen. Pretty much, the only team that runs their team this way is the A's, and that comes straight down from Billy Beane in the front office.
  5. You really think Costas has any choice what so ever in what he says or does with the Olympics? Highly doubtful. He doesn't do live events. He does prepared studio crap that the Network hands him.
  6. He will be relegated to the bullpen. Doctors have told him, that in all essence, he is on a 50 pitch-count for the rest of his career. At least, that's what I read... and of course, now I can't find the article.
  7. http://theburiedlead.com/wp-content/images/prior-wood.jpg http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/5083/spirituality2wf.jpg
  8. All I can say, is if you can avoid Time Warner, do it. I've had nothing but hassle, B.S., idiocy and poor service.
  9. Hey Ned, if you're going to pitch Parra in a 2 run game, why not pitch him 2 days ago? Oh, and, by the way, if you're going to pitch Turnbow in a game, why not throw him to start the inning?
  10. Why you don't pitch to Bonds? 3-3, 2HR and 6 RBI yesterday. No one else in that lineup is even a remote threat to produce the way Bonds can. Admittedly, he's much worse than he was a couple years ago, but he's still a god compared to everyone else in the Giants dreadful lineup (seriously... thank you Brian Roberts for not signing here this year)
  11. Its official. Youtube has everything. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tozw1ooh45g
  12. Ned switches them up a lot if a lefty is starting, he will play Miller instead of Estrada... so I'd expect to see Miller tonight.
  13. http://www.twinscards.com/images/autographs/294__1_med.jpghttp://blogs.britannica.com/blog/main/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/0000007098-carewo001-002.jpg http://lhs.lidgerwood.k12.nd.us/LHS/ColinBrownlee/Graphics/ErikDickerson.jpg (couldn't find a pic of him in a Packers uniform...)
  14. I will try to put into words why I love the game so much. In no other sport is the history of the game as prevelant as it is in baseball. Numbers, situations, games, calls. No other sport compares. The voice of the game has been carried through time by the great announcers, this is something that hoops, football and others have never had. Baseball grew up on the radio, there is a huge list of names that carried the game to many people, that they simply associate with their team, their city, in much the same way that we Wisconsinites associate Uecker with the Brewers. Why do I love the game? The stories my friends can tell. The games that I have seen. The subtleties and the intensity that every single pitch brings. Every pitch is a new game. Baseball may be 'slow' but no other sport has the action as compacted as Baseball does. There's more in my head, but my brain has shut off.
  15. Do they tailgate there? I may end up in DC this weekend, attempting to catch a game or two. Just wondering if I should tell my friends out there to get their little smokey fired up for my visit or not! Also, if anyone has any advice on getting last minute plane tickets relatively cheap, let me know.
  16. I will miss drunkenly saying "Gellin' like Cappellan" (Yes, they rhyme...) whenever he came into a game I was watching at a bar.
  17. If the Braves make the Playoffs, I'm sure you'll be able to get tickets, no problem.
  18. Bonds said he wouldn't. Howard will probably be in it, even though he's not an All-Star.
  19. I have an honest question... why are the seats in Wrigley numbered 1-12 then 108-120 or something like that. All within the same section? Oh, and seat #108 is the best seat in the section too, supposedly.
  20. From here: Fielder said he'll take part in the Home Run Derby. "That will be pretty cool. I just want to hit one first. That will be a lot of fun," he said.
  21. The correct answer is, of course... Boo Radley. http://tesla.liketelevision.com/liketelevision/images/lowrez/killmockingbird217.jpg
  22. Hooray Beer! TLB: I miss the Dane. Its one of my saddest things about being in Milwaukee instead of Madison: Not having ultimate league nights to go to the Dane afterwards. I have yet to try this, but it sounds like I should drink it with my female friends... as I tend to not enjoy the sweeter beers myself.
  23. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=2125 I pretty nice writeup of the Bucks and what they have/are looking for. They really are in the position to draft the best player available, and then use that to decide what free agents to persue. I'm actually excited about this off season (not nearly as excited as if we'd gotten the #2 pick though)
  24. I've never liked Mo as a starting PG... he always seemed like a 6th man to me. He is too much shoot-first. I would love for them to get Conley, every interview I've seen the kid give has been amazing, and he knows how to throw the ball into the post as well as any PG I've seen in awhile. As for the Bucks problems at SF, isn't that what a healthy Bobby Simmons is supposed to alleviate?
  25. No, a 20 game pack gets you tickets for every game. A 9 game only gives you tickets to 1 game.
