    I was watching at a bar so I had no audio, didn't know. I thought they showed Cappy warming up before Parra even bunted, but maybe I'm crazy.

    How can you let a guy who's had 2 AB's in 6 weeks BUNT when you know you're replacing him? If nothing else, PH Yo, or Bush. Honestly. That may have been the dumbest thing I've seen. Not to mention PHing for Billy, and not for Mench. Cripes. Yes, lets take out the better defensive player who hits righties better, and not the terrible defensive player who can't hit righties at all.

    What did Yost do? Well, he didn't Pinch hit for Soup, then yanked him after 1 hitter in the 7th. He brought Linebrink in, when he could've left Soup in for 1 more batter and then brought in Shouse to face LRL batters.

    There was a lefty on the mound, Gross can't hit lefties, and Billy kills 'em.

    Raines had a much better career than Lofton ever did. Raines had a 4 year stretch where he was probably the best player in baseball... and its doubtful he'll get voted in this year. The guy I'd say has to get support for Lofton to have any chance of getting in is Roberto Alomar - even though Alomar was a much better hitter and defender... if he doesn't get in, there's no way Lofton should.

    I am a text-messaging fanatic. A friend recently told me about texting googl on a cel phone, 46645. You can put in pretty much anything you want (a bar name and a city, 'cubs score' whatever) and it will usually come back with a response. I've used it to get phone #'s for restaurants, addresses, and... of course... cub's scores when I'm not by a tv or the internet. Figured I'd give everyone the pleasure of knowing about this.

    Good article. Not really a fan of how he picks and chooses his argument so that "half the teams in contention" are in the bottom half of payroll.... when in reality, he lists 13 teams, 9 of which are in the top 12 of payroll this year. Just doesn't put them all on the fancy chart.

    I remember reading about the Williams shift, and he actually used a heavier bat from time to time to help combat it. Pretty cool, actually.

    He needs to start hitting the ball to right field. He keeps trying to pull those outside pitches and grounding out to the left side.

    Yep, he really did. I couldn't believe it when I heard it and laughed my tail off. It was just a slip of the tongue, but it was awesome.

    I'd also add the Sunday game vs St Louis. They were up 5-0 that game, with Yovani on the hill, he pitched 4 no hit innings before giving up 4 in the 5th. Villy then walked in the lead run in the 8th. Lost 9-5. The Mets game was so bad on 8/1 because the Brewers took the lead, the Mets came back and took it back, then the Brewers scored again to regain the lead and then Vargas blew up.

    Milwaukee public transportation to and from Brewer games. Buses and Cabs and shuttles should have their own lane leaving from Miller Park. Encouraging public transportation by having people have to sit and wait for 40 minutes to get out of the parking lot isn't encouraging anything.
