  1. They also signed Bartolo. My dream goes unanswered for another season.
  2. No that is normal pricing. The only time you could get a deal for the Bucks was the year after the lockout where they discounted prices but after that year they went back to the astronomically high prices again. I still don't understand how people can go to more than a few games a year. For the Suns when the Bucks are in town courtside runs about $700-$900 a ticket that is behind the Bucks bench. For some strange reason I have found tickets behind the Suns bench lower at about $500 a ticket. Behind the courtside seats range from $100- $450 depending on what side of the court you want to be on. I completely forgot how expensive NBA games are if you want to sit anywhere decent. I know at the Bradley center I will never sit in the upper deck area as my legs don't fit in the seats up there. They changed the pricing structure again this year. Super Marquee games (basically, Bulls, Golden State & Cleveland, I think) are nearly 3x the normal face of tickets. I looked into a 12 game pack, for 2 seats in the first 5 rows of the upper deck, it would've cost me more than a full season package for the Brewers in the upper deck.
  3. You want him with NBA coaches, running your system and working every day with Giannis and Jabari. I think that experience is worth more than him being with another teams developmental system, their coaches, and their system.
  4. 1) Delly and Snell are going to be starting, so they aren't coming off the bench. 2) Beasley's team was 10 points WORSE with him on the court last year in Houston. He might score a lot but he literally does nothing else well, especially not anything on the defensive end 3) Rookies cannot be counted on to perform in the NBA. They very, very rarely do. 4) Terry is done, he can't guard anyone, and can't get by anyone with the ball anymore. He's a spot up 3-point shooter, not much different than Novak. 5) Monroe will get killed on defense, same as last year, because the defensive scheme asks him to do things he simply cannot do. Bench has been weak, right? Ranked 2nd best behind SA. Brogdon says hi. Cool story, bro. Monroe has carried the bench (he's also played the 4th most minutes on the team...), he's been amazing so far, I never would've expected that. Brogdon has been better than I expected, I didn't think he'd be as offensively competent as he's been, but everyone else has been utterly terrible. They've played probably 2 of the bottom 5 or 6 teams in the league, and the bench has been utterly destroyed by both the Hornets and the Pistons. Not sure where you're getting second in the league from, NBA.com has them 12th. http://stats.nba.com/league/team/#!/advanced/?Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&StarterBench=Bench&sort=NET_RATING&dir=1
  5. No but it's much more serious if a man hits a woman than if he hits another man. Why? Violence is violence. I'm just going to end it here because we're going toward forum prohibited area but I hate the whole "He hit a woman!? OMG! He is a despicable human being who should be shamed and never see the light of day. Oh, he hit another man. Meh." attitude. 1) Nothing there says he hit anyone. Just that he had visible injuries on his face. So who knows if he hit anyone. 2) If you can't comprehend the difference between two men drunkenly swinging at one another and a guy beating the crap out of a woman because he's angry with her, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
  6. Going back to 1988 (as far back as B-R goes), OBP was .322 that year, MLB averaged 3.58 P/PA and 4.14 runs/game (6,052 PA per team that season -- 37.3 per game) for ~133 pitches per game per team. In 2016 that number went up to 3.87 P/PA and 6166 PA per team -- 38.1 per game. For ~147 pitches per game. Just some numbers. OBP may be lower, but guys are seeing way more pitches per PA.
  7. Cubs fans can finally go from being "long suffering" to "insufferable" just like Red Sox fans.

  9. Tickets were selling for multiple thousands of dollars. Can't blame people for selling.
  10. Slightly Brewers related, Hank Aaron was on the Dan Patrick show on Friday. Worth watching just for the first 20 seconds. I won't spoil it.

  12. Here is how I see the starting 5 defensively: 1 - Delly 2 - Snell 3 - Jabari 4 - Giannis 5 - Plumroeson (Monsonlee?) I think it was Mike Lombardi (former NFL GM) who said, "I don't ever want to trade for or sign a guy and then immediately say, 'What we need is [that position]" I feel like that's exactly what happened with Plumlee, Henson and Monroe. Honestly. The teams bench is going to be terrible, it's been 2 full off seasons of horrible moves, and Kidd still appears to be running his gimmicky defense out there, which everyone has figured out (pass it twice, wide open 3).
  13. Empathy is a skill that people seem to be slowly losing in the United States. I'm not sure exactly why.
  14. The numbers don't show anything, without context: ie, video data, in this case. And the idea that Sedar has cost the team runs is innuendo as well. How many times have guys scored when they wouldn't have with a more conservative coaching philosophy? I don't know.
  15. The brewers made 27 oobHM this year, per baseball reference. So, once a week a guy got thrown out at home. Villar was responsible for 6 of them. The Cubs made 23, St Louis made 20.
  16. After that stupid Cardinals game two weeks ago, I can't blame them for immediately challenging even if there was nothing to challenge. My guess would've been the slide into 2B.
  17. OPS is one of the easiest ways to compare offensive seasons. Position, defense as well as baserunning all factor in to player value. If we're going into who's most likely to duplicate their 2016, my money would definitely be on Carter.
  18. What are you talking about? He ruined the game. He let an exhibition game end in a tie! He didn't cause a labor stoppage by demanding steroid testing before anyone in the media had even reported on steroids!
  19. Honest question, have you been to a bar downtown anywhere other than Milwaukee? $7 or $8 Miller Lites are not uncommon. That price really isn't that outrageous. Wisconsin has one of the lowest distilled spirits tax and one of the lowest beer taxes nationwide, so collectively, we get a distorted view. Every game my friends go to, they buy dinner at Bombers in the stadium. They both get off work after 6 most days, so they go right to the ballpark. For them, the $9 spent there is good value
  20. and Brett and Boggs and Chipper Jones
  21. That would be incredibly underwhelming if true. Tom ‏@Haudricourt 1m1 minute ago The #Brewers announcement today is a massive overhaul of “the beverage and food experience” at Miller Park for 2017.
