  1. Game 6 tonight. Lots of cheap tickets on seatgeek. Wish I weren't working on the west side of Madison... I'd be going.
  2. How soon we forget the legacy of Crazy Joe Dillon and George "Greek God of Abs" Kottaras.
  3. Suter has thrown ten pitches in less time than it takes Willy to throw two
  4. Braun taking the ball away from Broxton and lollipopping one home.
  5. Game 3 tonight. Gonna be in the upper deck screaming my lungs out!

  7. Rickie got plowed over by a base runner in fair territory the other day... http://www.draysbay.com/2017/4/12/15278064/yankees-brett-gardner-rays-rickie-weeks-jr-collision-first-base
  8. Don't drink bottled water? It's the worst!
  9. The Bucks only won 42 games (maybe 43). In the NBA, winning matters in the MVP voting. Only once in the last 30 years has a guy won who wasn't on a top-3 team in the conference. I don't think you can put Giannis in the same sentence as the top-4 guys this year -- Harden, Westbrook, LeBron and Leonard -- and that doesn't include the guy who's won back-to-back MVPs. I hope Harden wins the MVP, the fact that 2 rebounds per game is suddenly worth more than 10 or so wins makes me sad.
  10. Alcohol is MUCH, MUCH worse than marijuana. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/02/23/marijuana-may-be-even-safer-than-previously-thought-researchers-say/?utm_term=.812b5122b4ce https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/10/13/heres-how-legal-pot-changed-colorado-and-washington/ The fact that alcohol and cigarettes are legal and marijuana is not.... the only reason for that is lobbyists and "That's the way it's always been."
  11. No my attitude is you know what you signed up for so stopping acting like you're some poor unsuspecting victim. I mean serioulsly, walking around with these "broke athlete" signs? I'm so sorry that he gets a four year degree without paying a dime AND gets a monthly stipend on top of that just for being an athlete. Please, allow me to throw some money his way. Perhaps someone should send him a bill showing him what he would have paid for college if he wasn't good at basketball. And perhaps he should have gone to Turkey or Greece to play professionally three years ago if playing NCAA basketball is causing him to go broke. Stop using Straw Man arguments and discuss the issue, not Nigel Hayes, you're also completely misrepresenting the young man in your haste to establish a false cause argument. He used that sign to raise awareness. He wasn't complaining, he has used his celebrity as a Badger to attempt to change the status quo and raise THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for charity. That "Broke athlete" sign you like to harp on was used to (as I pointed out before) raise thousands of dollars for the Madison Boys & Girls club, but apparently that doesn't matter to you. He never once acted like a victim. Never once. Just stated the facts. Period. I ask you this, how would you have someone who feels that workers, in the future, need to be paid more, go about changing the status quo?
  12. Tens of millions of people write code for fun. Should college students not get paid for doing that? Tens of millions of people cook for fun, should college students not get paid for doing that? The basis of your argument is flawed. http://college.usatoday.com/2016/10/20/should-athletes-be-paid-to-play/
  13. So your attitude to someone trying to change the status quo in college athletics is, "Don't try to change anything, you signed up for this, plus you get to be famous in Madison." I can't even begin.
  14. Because allowing a poor kid enough money for a plane ticket to visit his family on thanksgiving is something. A huge something to that kid & his family.
  15. Peralta was always bad. Wolf was bad as well.
  16. 1 game at the Kohl Center easily pays for Hayes' entire 4 year scholarship. The kid is a poor college athlete, he literally couldn't afford to go home and visit his family during his freshman year. I'm sure you didn't look beyond the viral sign that got posted all over social media. What did he do with that? He created an account and raised over $10,000 for the local Madison Boys & Girls club. https://www.landof10.com/wisconsin/one-family-will-never-able-repay-wisconsin-badgers-star-nigel-hayes-holiday-kindness The idea that he doesn't value the education he's getting is laughable, Nigel Hayes is an incredibly intelligent young man, and has used his status, which he realizes he may never have again, to speak out against the unfair treatment of college athletes and African Americans. How many sold out lectures did you give while you were in school? How many Paul253 t-shirts were sold? College athletes are DOING A JOB that is generating hundreds of millions of dollars for Universities, and they don't see a dime of it. The fact that a large corporation has repeatedly blocked attempts by the workers to be paid and unionize.... go figure.
  17. Is he though? All I read and hear is how he's the main reason they've turned the season around. And Brogdon to a lesser extent, but it's hard to ignore how the team changed when Parker went out and Mids came in. I know Bucks fans liked Middleton all along, but at least on my part I didn't appreciate what he really means to the system working. The Bucks are 3-1 on a 5 game west coast swing, and will finish it 4-1 if they beat the dumpy Kings tonight. I don't really recall that happening in many years. (?) It was the first time they won 4 games on a road trip (any road trip) since January of 1989. I mean. Wow.
  18. In the last 10 years, Duke has won the ACC once - that season they finished tied with Maryland, who's now in the Big10. They finished tied for 5th each of the last two years. The idea that somehow it's easy to win conference titles in really good conferences is, well, silly.
  19. Baldkin, where have you found walk up songs for past Brewers? I'd love to be able to find out who had what for songs through the years. Honestly, just searching through old threads here. https://www.google.com/#q=walk+up+songs+site:forum.brewerfan.net&*
  20. Honestly, Fear The Deer era Andrew Bogut would make this team fearsome.
  21. My friend and I are putting together a list of walk-up songs of Brewers & former Brewers to play during tailgates. This website has been a tremendous resource.
