  1. What is super2? It's an arbitration exception, basically the Brewers will gain an extra year of per-arbitration control. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/business/super-two/
  2. Not happening. http://m.gazette.com/sky-sox-explain-strategy-behind-prospect-josh-haders-abbreviated-starts/article/1604622
  3. Who is the only Milwaukee player to do it? Joe A. Held the total base record for 50+ years, until Shawn Green broke it vs Milwaukee. My old man is still pissed they didn't plunk Green in his last at bat.
  4. All this angst at the start of the thread, CC was giving a few RHB the day off vs one of the tougher RHP's to face for RHB's.
  5. Before he is out, and he is out only when the ball beats him to the bag, therefor, heretofore, henceforth, et Al. a tie goes to the runner.
  6. There are no ties and there is no rule about a tie goes to the runner. If he was called safe on the field, chances are that call would've stood too. Yep. Didn't see it but 'tie goes to the runner' is a myth. Actually I believe by the letter of the law a theoretical 'tie' would go to the fielder as I think the rule says the runner needs to beat the ball. I'll have to look that up... Rule 6.05 (j) A batter is out when, after a third strike or after he hits a fair ball, he or first base is tagged before he touches first base. Rule 7.01 A runner acquires the right to an unoccupied base when he touches it before he is out. He is then entitled to it until he is put out, or forced to vacate it for another runner legally entitled to that base.
  7. I wonder how many of those failures are due to guys being thrown out at home with the stupid contact play on.
  8. They had 332 PA's in that situation in 2016, and he scored 148 times. We're literally talking 25 PA's as the difference between being 28th and top-10.
  9. I'd take Johnny Logan over any Brewer of the last 25 years for the last 2 spots.
  10. What are the two of you interested in? Do you like to sit on a dock by a lake and sip wine? Are you people who want to wander the woods? Are you interested in brewery tours? Wineries?
  11. Yep, he's been great at getting out of his own messes. He's made, what, 4 good moves outside of the draft in 9 years. 2 winning seasons, 0 playoff series wins. Regularly dumped 2nd round picks for nothing when the draft is supposed to be his selling point. And, again, for being this great talent evaluator, he traded down and passed on Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard to acquire Stephen Jackson.
  12. He chose the first guy ever in the top 10 to not be extended to his 4th season, then chose Stephen Jackson and Tobias Harris over Klay Thompson or Kawhi Leonard. He also failed to convince ownership that Steph Curry was more valuable than Monta Ellis. There's a running idea amongst Bucks fans that every good deal that happened was Hammond, and every bad deal that happened was Kidd or Kohl (not directed at you, but in general). It's a miracle that Hammond could only convince them of the good things, and not how stupid all those bad deals were.
  13. Wisconsin is very much okay with kids being around most drinking establishments. They usually have food trucks there and I'm pretty sure they serve root beer (as well as water, of course)
  14. If you're a beer drinker, and you're in Amherst, be sure to stop at Central Waters brewery! Amazing!
  15. Pitchers aren't going to change how they pitch to Villar based on who the on deck hitter is. It just doesn't happen. His BB% is down 3%, his K% is up 4%, his BABIP is down 100 points, his GB% is up 6%, LD % is down 3%. He's basically been hugely worse in every measurable way this season.
  16. But we just traded the relievers for the farm!
  17. I hike. I hike a lot. I get outside to enjoy nature, reset my internal batteries and just listen and see the beauty of the natural world. More and more, I find people carrying around stupid bluetooth speakers and blasting music when they hike, completely distrubing my mood and serenity. You want to listen to music in public, put your headphones on. Not doing this is completely disrespectful to those people around you. It's no different than secondhand smoke in my mind. I golf, fairly often, and on Sunday afternoons, I'll have a small radio or bluetooth speaker on, so I can hear Uke. I can hear it when I'm in the cart, but I can't hear it when I'm hitting my ball. This has not been my experience with people & music on the golf course.
  18. Actually, it hasn't been that bad, when it comes down to it.... they've got a 104 ERA+ this season, so they've actually been above average on that aspect.
  19. I feel as though the difference is similar to that of precision and accuracy.

  21. I read the title as "Eats Coast baseball trip." and I was very curious as to which coast was the Eats Coast, and why I hadn't gone there yet.
  22. Gabe Kapler would like to speak with you... He's not Greek, though.
