  1. 21+ movie theaters are the best. Might cost a couple dollars more, but well worth it for the assurance that kids won't ruin your movie. Plus assigned seats and alcoholic drinks!!! Are there any around MKE that are 21+? I know there are a bunch that serve beer, however, in my experience, they are treated much the same way as a restaurant.... and still let the young ones in.
  2. BARTOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://twitter.com/_BenDiamond/status/729116264019406851
  3. He is still arbitration eligible for 2017 and 2018 - so yes, he is controllable for a couple of years beyond 2016. He is still arbitration eligible for two more years? His MLB debut was 2010. How can he still have 2 more years of eligibility (and not be eligible for Free agency yet)? I'll never understand the timing process of arbitration and free agency eligibility. Arbitration/team control is determined by service time. So time in the minors does not count. As an example, JJ Hardy's 21 day demotion got the team a full extra year of team control.
  4. The statute of limitations is 3 years... however, every time the song is sold or played on the radio, that is a new case of copyright infringement - which restarts that 3 year clock.
  5. It's worth seeing, simply for the historical perspective of how baseball came back to Milwaukee. Plus, Uecker narrates the movie.
  6. Still playing. Saw it last weekend. No differences. No mention of George Petak. Oh, except they put some very well lit thing exactly behind the Bud hologram and it completely ruined the hologram from where my seat was.
  7. I use firefox extensively, but don't bank with Citi. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adobe-flash-plugin-has-crashed I will say, in my experience, quite a few banks fail miserably at writing cross-browser code and invariably run best when using IE.
  8. I wanted to read up on this myself, and after looking at google maps to see where Bethel is (wow!) I stumbled across this article: http://www.adn.com/article/20160122/big-need-water-truck-drivers-shows-itself-bethel-when-water-runs-out
  9. Wait, I thought MLB was totally clean and that no one used performance enhancing drugs anymore since the new testing came into play and that's why scoring is down.... that's what the media told me....
  10. 4 years after reports of horrible working conditions and abuse started, FIFA has announced they are going to "monitor the situation" in Qatar. What a joke.
  11. If they do it right, it can be amazing (take the Kohl Center, for an example).
  12. I'm transfixed by the weird flap of skin on his elbow.
  13. Pitchers have been using sunscreen + rosin for years. Hitters don't care as it simply helps the pitcher grip the ball better. They aren't juicing the ball with it.
  14. Dave Bush did. Sheeter. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=6640 http://www.thebaseballcube.com/seasons/boxscore.asp?GID=ANA200406080 Plus, CC Sabathia threw one in Pittsburgh. Somehow, a pitcher bare handing a slow roller in front of the mound and dropping it.... isn't an error.
  15. It's defense. It's always defense that holds young guys back. Actions, counter actions and counter-counter actions just leave most guys who grew up playing AAU where the most complicated action was a pick 'n roll completely lost. Watching Jabari this season showed just that.
  16. The running start makes quite a difference, I'd imagine
  17. 2-3 days? Man. I'm in software development. Regularly work on projects for 2-3 months that don't see the light of day....
  18. This reminds me of "calling a field" when I played with my buddies as a child. Does anybody have a feeling for if the shifts tend to shift towards a batter pulling the ball instead of hitting it the other way? It would be shading to left for the right handed hitter and to right for the left handed hitter. If so, could it be because youth hitters are not being taught to spray the ball as opposed to "grip it and rip it?" 99% of shifts are towards the pull side. It's been shown by spray data, player tendencies, etc.... guys rarely hit the ball on the ground the other way. Fly balls & line drives, sure, but very rarely do guys excel at hitting grounders the opposite way. It's the weakest kind of contact.
  19. More often than not, the fault is on the player, not the shift when a double play isn't able to be turned. He was either out of position or didn't realize (because he wasn't in his normal spot) that he needed to cover the bag. You can say it cost them, but if a guy was fielding it out of position because of the shift, that's a clean base hit normally, right?
  20. How old is your older sibling? Age will effect the advice quite a bit
  21. The Milwaukee Brewers are 2nd in the NL in BB%. The MILWAUKEE BREWERS! By Comparison, from 2012 until 2015, they finished 11th, Last, 10th and 11th.

  23. Considering Obi-Wan died 30 or so years ago and I doubt Rey is over 30...
  24. I haven't looked into it much, but do any of these come with Big10 Network?
  25. It absolutely happens in the NFL. It doesn't get publicized as much. If you think the Colts signed all the best players possible and thought they'd make the playoffs the year Peyton Manning missed and ended up with the worst record and Andrew Luck.... I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for ya. The players play in the NBA, the difference is by far and away, 1 player makes more of a difference. The best players are gotten by picking in the top 5. The players aren't throwing games in the NBA. Management puts together a young team, rests guys, etc, etc. If you want competitive balance in the NBA, 1 thing needs to happen: Remove the salary ceiling for free agents. The most underpaid players are the top-10 to 20 guys in the league (and the players on their first 4 year contract).
