  1. The Arena deal passed the City Council with a 12-3 vote. We've got a deal, people!
  2. 5 inches? Braun is 6'2....are you saying that Prince is 5'9? More like 2 or 3 inches. I'm 5'9, and stood next to Prince. 5'10" would be generous to him.
  3. I've been to 5 games there and never heard it
  4. For those that may not know the full story: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1368&dat=19821021&id=s3pQAAAAIBAJ&sjid=JRIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5320,4387247&hl=en RIP, You hot dog.
  5. You can do this at www.baseball-reference.com by going to "Game Logs" and then selecting two different dates, it will give you the statistics between them (inclusive).
  6. The rest that I took: https://round.me/@mkehiker Yes, I should've taken more.
  7. Smoke, a bad shoe and as a result a bruised foot forced me off the trail, but I went 65 miles in the back country and enjoyed some amazing sights. https://round.me/tour/13066/view/ Just one of the photospheres I took. I'll be posting more on my website (Eventually).
  8. While I love the idea of a Jamesian Relief Ace who comes in at the most crucial point of the game, it's not as easy to implement as it is to write. It takes time to warm up a pitcher, and often a manager wouldn't have his relief ace ready to go when the magic moment were to arrive. Plus, a manager can't be constantly dry humping his relief pitchers by getting them up and down throughout the game and not using them. It takes a relief pitcher 3 minutes to get ready. Or do you not remember the Tony LaRussa school of getting a guy up? Throw over to first. Throw over to first. Coach visit to the mound. Throw over to first. Bring in reliever.
  9. My point is plainly this: You win because you have the lead in the 9th. Whoever pitches gets it done. Also, that 2008 stat is completely incorrect, as it simply takes saves and blown saves (and not holds) into account. It's not using simply 9th inning statistics -- David Riske blew 5 saves that season, for example. You should use your best reliever in the most important situation in a game. The idea that a pitcher who's made it to MLB doesn't have the mental fortitude or ability to accept a role that will help the team win more games baffles me. You need to have a manager who can lay out those expectations and can pass them off to the team.
  10. Obviously not since it has been tried several times and failed as Danzig6767 pointed out. At some point what actually happens has to count for more than what someone thinks should happen. It doesn't work as often as it doesn't work with a proven guy. Trevor Hoffman? Anecdotal evidence of that one time it didn't work doesn't mean it never worked. Seemed to work fine for the 2008 Brewers. Things haven't changed in the last 50 years. Teams still win 95% of the games they lead going into the 9th inning. http://joeposnanski.com/the-closer-you-get/
  11. The only reasons the closer role exists are the save statistic, the money associated with it and as an easy excuse to take the blame off of the manager actually having to answer a question on baseball strategy.
  12. Don't care. Want him gone. Him wearing the uniform is a disgrace, and getting rid of him for nothing would be preferable to watching him pitch again next year in my mind. I'd also rather see if someone can fill the role going forward.
  13. Joe West just threw a guy out in the national tv game..shocker.
  14. Should've just let him go. Don't want, don't need next year.
  15. Just a great inning for Braun. If he runs half as hard to that ball in the corner as he did on that double, it saves a run. Then ending the inning getting thrown out at third by ten feet.
  16. I don't think he needed to keep it to himself. He also didn't need to make a public announcement about it. He wanted to do so, fine, but he didn't need to. Some of his teammates already knew, many others figured he was gay. Sounds like nobody cared, so why not leave it at that? That's my only point in all this. 20 year olds don't care about this stuff anymore, or 99% of them anyhow. It matters though. To that 15 year old kid who struggles with not telling his teammates. To that kid growing up who's never seen a gay professional athlete, other than in women's sports. Every step and every person brings more to the table and helps change the tide of misinformation, hatred, and bigotry.
  17. "Hey Don, have you guys heard of this thing called the contact play?"

  19. Segura has taken to swinging more, both in and out of the zone... which shows he isn't recognizing pitches. Which goes back to the Brewers organizational (or RRR's MLB philosophy) of swing first, and ask questions later.
  20. I agree completely. Jonah Keri said it better than me today: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/mlb-seattle-mariners-2015-failure-prospects-jeff-zduriencik-mike-zunino/
  21. Size was the biggest thing for me when I went with a smart phone. I went to a Best Buy and just held the phones until I found the size I liked, wrote it down then hunted online for the other specs I wanted. I went Android as I already had an android tablet and I simply don't like apple products. If she's about the camera, there are plenty of phones with decent cameras. You don't need the overwhelming bells and whistles if all you're doing is taking selfies and quick snap shots (get a real camera for that!)
  22. They absolutely coach that hack at anything approach. It's what broke Khris Davis at the start of the year in 2014. Silly Brewers.
